PW Dying? Time To Leave?

Since PW came out with the Elysium expansion, it stated that UP was the end of all dungeons.
So, does that mean there is nothing to look forward to if you are high level, is this a tongue in cheek innuendo for saying there is nothing else for players forthcoming from PW in the future? Is PW worth playing and charging gold still or time to move on? Your thoughts?

Time to move on. I made your decision for you. Now it is up to you whether you want to follow through with the decision. PwNm4vG.png

I don't know how long I've been reading posts "pwi is dying" e.t.c. In the meantime new races appeared, new dungeons, new weapons. I think I've been hearing that for years... The game will die when it will die. So far everything seems fine to me, I don't see anything to make me feel that way.

It's your decision if you'll stay or move on. Whatever feels right for you. If you have fun and enjoy the game, I see no reason for you to worry. If you want to leave the game, you can leave the game and try to find something else. It depends on how you feel.

As long as this game keeps making money the dev team will never pull the plug on this game. They may no longer make any new content or take ages to do it, but they wont actually close the servers down. Currently PWI is in a very weird spot because of the way they marketed rank 9, they can't really release new gear yet without giving players a real reason to obtain it, the new G17 and s3 R9 weapin recast both have interesting stats, but with the time and the cost of each very few players will bother to even trying to obtain them even with their increased power.

The only thing they could do at this point is release new gear that would allow the current gear to upgrade towards it without such a drastic time requirement or cost, or at the very least allow the gear to maintain it's shards or refines for a much lower cost.

UP was never said to be the last dungeon what we were saying is that it was the most difficult dungeon ever created by the devs.

It still gets steamrolled in 20-30mins, maybe less with coordinated squad.

That's because devs in china make the game with their chinese players and the gear they use in mind.
They don't have anywhere near the amount of R9 players our version has.

I've seen these threads pop up often -- and at the end of the day, they're running a business and will try to make money as long as they possibly can. So I doubt the game is "dying" -- as there is still a large playerbase willing to sink money into the game and who still enjoy it for what it is. So long as that contingent remains, it will likely stay afloat.

For my part, I play less and less. I support my faction via TW on the weekends and enjoy time spent with them, but the game and the company just disappoints me way too much to invest much more in it these days. Reading reviews of the company by current and former employees online just convinces me that things aren't likely to change; they're not going to work on updating the engine, fix the dozens of bugs, look deeply at class balance, or bring this game into line with where it should be for 2016. There are much better MMOs out there that have development teams committed to their games and who love playing the games themselves, and it shows in their product.

Enjoy the game if it still works for you and makes you happy, I doubt it's going anywhere anytime soon, but if the company continues to bleed out good senior talent like it has been, I can't see the state of the game improving.

these threads will keep popping up as long as people have the ability to cash shop end game gear to "steamroll" an end game instance. Nothing new

Back when gear was mostly farmed and worked for, and warsong was "the" end game dungeon, you never heard players complaining the game was dying and they had no challenge or something to look forward to.

Bzzt. People have been crying on the forums about the game dying since 2009, long before Warsong. Any time anything changes in the game someone will say it's dying. It'll die eventually like all things. But until then, just play the game.

I dont think is dying per se, the game is still making money due to people buying lot of gold (as usual), but i dont think people here will be kidding themselves and say population hasnt diminished. You barely see new people in game, most of the new toons around are alts from persons who already been in the game for years, and lot of people (that i know at least) been leaving the game from some time now. So in that sense, the game isnt dying or will close because still making money, but the population seems to be dismishin, and that can be seen at how hard is to form/find squads for things like fsd/fsj nowdays.

i dont know on my server i seen citys that were abandon have people running around them like lost etc snowy still dead tho now and then a few questers i dont think its dead.

i know how to fix it upgrade engine and add solo quests with story line plot like GW2 puts your toon in the cinematic movies. add more pets to veno plus a veno pet bag for battle pets only add permanent fash weps and fash pres elected color

realy easy a realy cool feature is a 50$ character move where you can take any character and move it to its Owen account example i take toon i like cleric pay 50$ to move it out so now i can duel client with my sin and cleric at same time that were once on the same acount.

I wonder if they will allow changes to allow sweetie bot to come back, used to make the forums fun.

I don't think the forums are active enough for a 1-month necro policy, tbh.

Also, I've resigned myself to the fact that PWI will never die, until it's down to the last ghost town of a server. If it can survive all these new releases of games, server merges, and massive hacks/controversies, then it can probably survive just about everything now.

The necrolords have danced before this thread and have determined...

That they must close it. Not because it's an unfavorable question but it appeared to have been answered. To beat a dead thread corpse is unsightly. As others have pointed out, threads like this have been happening since the dawn of the game. It certainly won't be the last time either. So I'll be closing this one up :3
