I have the challenge of the protector. Anyone have any tips on a set up? I have tried Slow>DD>DD>DD>Slow>DD>DD>DD>Slow>DD

I have tried Slow>DD>DD>Slow>DD>DD>Slow>DD>DD>Slow>DD>DD>Slow>DD>DD>Slow

I attack the boss as well, my pattack is 123 504~ 133 194, 739 attack lvls, crit rate 38% . Boss has about 3m left when he reaches the end.

I am able to max out 6~7 npc, last 4~5 npc remain at lvl 1, i don't have enough time to dd more.

Pattack and attack lvl buffs are maxed, i have used tidal wafer, spirit assault but nothing seems to work. At time the boss does not slow down when he goes by the slow npc, he just waltz through at normal speed.

One slow followed by 3 DD, repeated.

Class is bm, i do use ranged attack, i have tried slow followed by 3 dd, but i can not max out all the npc, last 4~5 are lvl 1~2 mostly. I have tried maxing the slow ones, and leaving the last few dd ones at lvl 1~2, but boss walks at normal pace after the first turn. I have tried 1 slow followed by 2 dd, boss still goes normal pace after first turn.

I have tried walking in front of the boss, on the side, behind, all to no avail.

I use dps skills mostly for dd, rather than dph skills, damage comes out slightly in favour of dps skills due to zerks and crits.

Don't think too much about the good configuration. The problem is not the settings of slow/DD in my opinion but rather the fact that you can't max them out.
So what you must try to increase is your dammage (to get more items but also to deal more dammage to the boss)
I can't really advice on what you should do as a BM regarding you dammage though

That is the conclusion i came to as well, but the problem is, skills are already demon, primal. Only thing i have neglected is the primal passive to increase skill damage, still got 2~3 levels to go there. Beside i tried different pots, apoc i could use, did not work out.

Normally I only activate 1 slow (2 with the first one) and rest DDs. I don't know whenever that is best or not, but it worked so far for me.
As you figured, you'll have to deal as much damage you can to the orb in middle so you can activate them all, or most. Well, what can I say, use white tea etc so you can triple spark and/or hf it as often as possible to increase your damage output. You should also try debuffing the boss. The DDs add hf effect on boss so you should probably use glacial/mire (do npcs do phy dmg?)/extreme poison to help the DD npcs and of course DD by yourself too. I haven't done it on BM though, it's just what I could imagine I would do.

Oh and of course, don't waste your debuffs right away, wait till it's being attacked by the first npc, or wait till both first and second npc is hitting it at once.

I always did this room the same way and I never failed it. Last time I did it was room 104, so maybe this will help. I did every npc in equal amounts, so one then another etc until the last 2 where I had 2 slow people. At this point I could not kill the bead because of the absurd health it has. I focused on upgrading my front line of npcs. I don't know if you noticed, but the boss has no anti aps buff, which is how as a sin I could kill him before he even got halfway round. If you go aps, wait for one of the npcs to HF him and use extreme poison with range buff, it should go down very quick. As long as you get every npc to first stage at least you should be fine. I only had a few at second stage the last time I did it.

If that is the case you are better off maxing the first 6 then any more you can, rather than trying to open all of the npc's.

Thank you i will try that. Thank you to everyone who pitched in with their ideas, i will try them all out in a few hours when i get back and let you know what happens.

I event went as far as dragon bane>phy marrow>triple spark>dd on boss>diamond sutra>dd, that helped, but will try that with aps and see how far i get.

@eternalghost thank you, aps did it. Luckily a +8 g16 fist/claw was enough to do the job. Got the boss when he reached the last npc.

I normally alternate the whole way, but I only ever need the first 3 or 4 defenders because I use Searing Moonlight on the boss to get it wrecked by the first DD. I have no idea how I'd do it without that skill slowing and amping it on the last room because it goes too fast.

Too many slows. 2 is enough, one is default, last in in the middle a bit closer to the end.

I always do Slow|DD|Slow|DD etc. Completed this at floor 107 also. It gives permanent slow and near-permanent HF on it and never reaches halfway before dead. The player is always the most DD on the boss so keep it around for as long as possible.
