PWI client spam-opens Arc Overlay executables

So, I've had this problem for the past week and a day now, since the last maint before the expansion. When I have PWI open, my cursor flickers up the 'loading wheel' when I'm tabbed out of the client, and EVERYTHING goes extremely slow. So, I restarted, verified, reTRIMed my SSD, and it stopped. Today, it started after I launched PWI after patching it. So, I opened Task Manager and WHOA WTF, there's over 200 'arcoverlay.exe's running, and it's opening more as I watch. Every time I launch the PWI client, even if Arc isn't running, it starts spamming the overlay.exe and it slows my system down really bad. Moreover, it's taking a HUGE chunk of RAM. I've got an i5 CPU, 16 GB of DDR3, and a 256GB SSD, and this is HAMMERING on EVERYTHING. CPU usage is maxed, my RAM is getting hammered with cache misses, and my SSD is getting hammered with repeated read requests (which, btw, will kill my drive faster than if I didn't have PWI and ARC on it).

So, please, fix arc. I will bite my tongue and not call it names, but it has been a trainwreck since it first reared it's head.

Heh, it's doing it in Neverwinter as well. I think the arcoverlay.exe is corrupted... Time to move Arc and all of my PWE games off my SSD.

    Run Arcrepair.exe.

Oh, and make certain you've fully excluded it from all your security software before doing so.

I'm having the same problem and I ran ArcRepair several times, yet nothing has changed.
Might removing and re-installing Arc help?
Should probably mention that it starts two 'ArcOSOverlay.exe' when I open the first client, then when I try duel-clienting it just goes nuts and continuously tries to run more and more.

The arcrepair.exe won't run. Gives an error, both internal, and in Windows.

I reinstalled, both Arc and PWI, and still happening.

Going to need more information on this. Check my sticky for details.

Also, if you're running Windows XP, it's no longer supported. Time to upgrade was like 7 years ago.

I have the same issue, which led me to uninstalling everything (PWI/ARC related) cleaning my pc, and then redownloading & reinstalling. Unfortunately, none of that helped. I still get several ARC overlay running. But now I can't even login to the game due to an ARC issue, which a PWI employee has answered on another thread that it is being worked on. Hopefully, it fixes all issues.
I am running Windows 8.1 on this pc and Windows 10 on another pc, both have the same issue with the several ARC overlay.
