Watch out, Possible new hacker scheme

So I cant' do the naming and shaming, but was on Facebook, and got a random friend request. i thought why not. soon after, i get pm'ed from the guy asking me to give him one of my accounts because he needs a strong player. I said no. then, he tried to ask me for an account i dont use much. i said no and also mentioned the ToS about account sharing. so far he has yet to respond, but be careful.
Etherblade Server
due to mishaps in my past few years in game, I do NOT accept random invites (faction/squad/friend no randoms period) NOR will I give buffs (cleric/barb/sin/exp if i have it) to random people because they ask. If I DO give buffs to a random person, it's because of a random whim (much like the red detonator button sitting at my desk that i will one day push at a random whim)
Also do NOT look at my gear and then proceed to pm me asking to buy my gear or for a loan of coin. It's just plain rude.
I have too many toons to name, but if you play on Etherblade server and you come across a toon that acts this way, or if the world is suddenly destroyed, it was probably me.

Thats a very low atempt of hacker scheme.
If I would be a hacker I would be ashamed to have such guy like the one you are talking about in the hacking community( if there is such a community).
Only idiots will fall for such ''hacking scheme'' and give their acounts or acounts info to the first person that ask for them.

i agree, but sadly, there are people who would fall for it, though which is the reason for the post

Lol, had something similar come up... but was more of a scam than a **** scheme.
Pretty model face friend requests, saying shes new to PWI and is squishy basically.
I offered help, but they want items and money... monkey-19.gif

i didn't give the guy any account info. Even if i didn't use Defender, mine are still safe. i have my reasons, but i am trying to build up my social media network and i normally have no problems with a random friend request or follow. No one else has randomly pm'ed me asking me to give them anything much less access to one of my online gaming accounts, which would also include access to the email account connected to it. So it's because i don't normally have trouble with random friend requests or follows, that i thought 'why not.'

But i did some more digging into the guy's page. based on the page showing his latest posts, since 2011 he's only had like 5 posts with the most recent one done in April of 2014. I don't know the guy, but over a year later he gets on facebook sends me a random invite and just happens to ask for my pwi account. The info about my hobbies is available for public viewing, but any sensitive infomation is protected, so something's more than fishy with that, but i don't have enough info to report anything. I bet i'm not the first or will be the last person the guy tries to contact. I'm hoping the guy is someone who reads the forums and will see this discussion, but i'm not going to get my hopes up on that. I don't have much info on my profile and what i do have isn't anything that can be used. So i'm not worried about becoming a victim myself. I did what i needed to. and am just passing on a friendly warning to other players

The second person would be a dumbass only if he would give his account info.

didn't fall for it, and did some extra precautionary measures just to be safe. Positive my accounts are safe.
