Change Display Name On Forums?

So, as I have yet to find an answer that makes sense to me. Is there anyway to change your display name here on the forums? I've seen some that seem to be something other than their user account name, and I hate having the numbers after it on my profile, and yet I don't see anyone else with them... Any ideas?

    Can't do it with Vanilla.

    I'm still pretty pissed that my original posts didn't sync with my account. Some got merged properly, some didn't.​​

    That's annoying... I've already figured out that HTML isn't working to change my signature. Otherwise I'd have something a lot prettier than I do, lol. My college certificate is in website design :p .
