Quicksand Maze - beginners

I probably have a ton of questions. However the first one is how to deal with a particular mob.
Not entirely sure of the name, but it was one that was immune to all attacks, and surounded by frost statues (which were physical immune). Killed some of those, then fire (magic immune) statues spawned. Killed a few of those then suddenly the boss started taking damage. But only for a very brief instance, then it was immune again.
How do you deal with this mob?

That is a boss by the name Elemental Offspring. Most people just call it statue boss...
There will be total 3 statues spawned at once. The boss switch between which statues are required. First you need forexample 3 fire statues, and the faster you can make 3 fire statues spawn, the more time you have to DD. You switch between having 3 fire statues up and 3 frost statues depends on text that pop up. If you are too slow (or too lazy) to set up the right statues, you can also just choose to ONLY have forexample 3 frost statues up and then sit wait till he will be able to take damage (like 30 seconds?) and then 30 seconds where he immune, 30 seconds he can take damage, and so on, untill he die.0 -
ok - how do you set up statues? By destroying the ones that are already up?

Yes, destroying one will randomly spawn either a flame or frost. You can check out the link sylenthunder posted and scroll down till you see the list of bosses. It has focus on doing quicksand maze duo but in the high level version of the instance (Lv100+), but the boss principle is more or less the same for any level range of quicksand maze, so it will still help to watch it.

I'll view the vid later, thanks.
Key to running it seems to be high-damage output on the bosses. Ran successfully with a guildy high-level seeker.
Incidentally for those wanting to duo this, Seekers are good since they output both physical and magical damage.0
