Regarding TW, when Lothranis merged with Momaganon, this was not Loth versus Moma. There were some merges without even mentioning random people leaving their factions to try something else.
Because of time zones it might be different this time, but I'm pretty sure some HL guys would prefer getting allies from Morai to fight their old ennemies, rather than joining old ennemies to fight new peeps.
