Hey guys I just started a half orc trickster rogue. I am new to the game. I have a lvl 22 human guardian fighter, but don't know much about the game. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good guide for beginner rogues? Not sure what to do for feats or powers. PS I want to play PvE and PvP

Personal opinion, you might want to level a character to 60 before putting much into another one. Reason is because there's so many engame numbers and different routes that you should treat leveling all the way to 60 as a tutorial. Otherwise you'll end up spending a lot of $ respecing.

On topic tho I used http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?787471-preying-mantis-PVE-executioner-module-5-glass-cannon-build&highlight=mantisa for the feats.

Stats I went into str and Dex instead of int (I wanted to max crits). cloud of steel and due lists flurry for at wills. And encounters you switch around so much it doesn't really matter. For TR you can literally work with any encounters. And use them as you unlock them. Main ones (that I use) will be dazing and deft strike (I don't use these in pve at all but they're great for pvp, and some ppl main them in pve), lashing blade, impossible to catch (for pvp, it's nice in pve but you end up sacrificing damage and it's not necessary) smoke bomb, and SS (think its called sure shot, I forgot, but I main this in my build) also you may want bait and switch at some point in time, A lot of TRs can solo entire dungeons because of it. Blitz and path of blades are really nice in pve and I use them in my rotations a lot. but it's one of those things that won't hurt if you decide you don't want to use them.

For pvp have lashing blade and a stun/slowing encounter (I used dazing strike and deft strike early on, after lvl 55-60 I switched dazing out with smoke bomb and SS/impossible to catch, but usually always have deft and lashing in my rotation for pvp)

There's no perfect build for everybody because everyone plays different. And like I said at the beginning you'll really want to know where to put different stats and that only comes from the experience of leveling a character. The trick to TR that everyone can agree on is to go invisible as often as possible since that's where you get all of your damage.

It all depends on your play style my friend.

Personally I have always gone more towards a PvP set up build. PvE is extremely easy in this game, so spec'ing fully into a PvE build I feel is not necessary. You will do less damage as a PvP spec'd TR then that of a PvE spec'd..but your skill and gear will determine how much less DPS you will do. For example. I am built for PvP. In a dungeon I will do less damage then an equally geared/skilled TR spec'd into PvE. Think 20Million for me, VS 24 Million for a PvE spec.

Sab Spec - More your perma-stealth style build. Most dps comes from ranged encounters. Cloud of Steel. Usual set-up is Master Infiltrator running Dazing Strike, Impossible to Catch and Shadow Strike. To be fully the perma stealth build you will swap out Dazing Strike for Bait n Switch. With Skillful Infiltrator and Tenacious Concealment as Passives. This is the build I would use for Sab Spec - http://nwcalc.com/index.html#/x/tr?b=1oa5:k6rwk5:8dep:2et,12n02i5:15u0zv:100000:1u0000&h=0&p=min Stat rolls would be CON/CHA, or CON/INT. I prefer CON/CHA

Scoundrel Spec - This is a very effective Daze(cc)build, with excellent burst damage depending on your rotation. Personally I like Whisper Knife over Master Infiltrator for this build. Standard encounters would be Shadow Strike(some prefer Impact Shot), Vengeance Pursuit and Deft Strike with Advantageous Position and Dagger Threat(or Tenacious Concealment). Example of a good Scoundrel Build - http://nwcalc.com/index.html#/x/tr?b=1oa5:k6rwk5:8dep:2et,12n02i5:100000:1uu0zv:1u0000&h=0&p=wkn

Executioner Spec - Your considered "one shot build" Best with Master Infiltrator - Standard encounters would be Dazing Strike, Lashing Blade and Impossible to Catch. I prefer Shadow Strike in place of Dazing, and using Skillful Infiltrator and Tenacious Concealment as passives. Example of a good Executioner build - http://nwcalc.com/index.html#/x/tr?b=1oa5:k6rwk5:8dep:2et,12k32i5:100000:1uu000:1uu0z1&h=0&p=min

Stat priorities are going to be the same for all builds. Health is your most important stat. Running Radiants in Defensive Slots. Darks for Armor penetration in your offensive slots.

You want to try and get to that 28k+ Health, 25% damage resistance, minimum 40% deflect, minimum 25% Armor Penetration. After that stack straight Power(radiants in offensive), or recovery(silvery in offensive).

The PvP Profound set imo is the best for TR's in the game. 30% longer stealth duration and 7.5% more damage in stealth. You will also want to get the Swashbuckling 4/4 set for PvE as the 4 set bonus is very nice.

These of course are just my opinions. Like I said I never spec for PvE, as its not necessary because the PvE in this game is so easy. If you want to PvP and not get your head kicked in, you are much better off spec'ing for PvP. A 19k GS PvE spec'd TR will get crapped on by a 15k PvP spec'd TR all day long, assuming the skill lvl is the same.

Ultimately as you lvl up you will start figuring out your own play style and what works best for "you". I recommend running an Executioner Path until you reach lvl 60. It is the easiest of the Paths to do well with, and by the time you hit 60 you should have your rotations down and understand more what a TR is capable of and what you want to do with it.

    Hope this helps bud, cheers!

Edit: I didn't put points into any of the powers.

You will want to max out; Impact Shot, Duelist Flurry, Sly Flourish, Lashing Blade, Shadow Strike, Cloud of Steel, Dazing Strike, Impossible to Catch(if MI), Disheartening Strike(if WK), Vengeance Pursuit(if WK), Shocking Execution(if MI), Deft Strike, Lurkers Assault, whirlwind of blades, Blitz, Smoke Bomb, First Strike, Tenacious concealment, Skillful Infiltrator(if MI), Dagger Threat(if WK), Advantageous Position(if WK), and Hateful Knives(if WK) 1 Point into Wicked Reminder and 1 point into Bait n Switch

Alysin, if I eventually make a rogue, that's where I'm looking for info. Good breakdown.

Thanks bud! I don't pretend to know everything but I think I make a pretty decent TR. I have done literally every single build there is over the course of 2 years, and by running those particular stats and builds have done fairly well in PvP and PvE with them.

I have a special build all ready theorycrafted for mod 6. The tears will be many!
