AD farming / AD exchange

codher0codher0 Member Posts: 149 Arc User
The Astral Diamond Exchange is where I make most of my AD. Does anyone else use this method? I can make a pretty good amount each day. I'm currently on ID# 2,237.

Are you saying you buy Zen and exchange it for AD?

I sell my zen when it's high and buy zen when it's low

That would work really well... around what? 1000 zen mark? You can see a 1 or 2 zen constant shift u can make thousands ad that way. Long run i see a shift of 8 zen usually... i mean a real wallstreet style would be in the 10000 zen mark. Simple returns to scale economics.
I found farming epics is the fastest ad gain. In like 2 hours and salvage u can max a char, with say 5 chars thats close to 1000 zen a day

Hello, I was hoping you could help. J suck at making AD and hoping to figure out how to do this. What do you do exactly? What prices do you buy at and sell at? Thanks for help. I really appreciate it.

I really only found the profits worth it once you can put in a couple mill of ad to invest in converting to zen. I use this more as an investment than an actual means to make ad. You can make so much more working the ah. Converting is just a cherry topper imo.

You have to put some money into the game first ;)

Or just build up Ad. Simple answer is they buy items at lower ad value then gold, or high ticket items and resell.
Its just being a merchant, also the idea is to have many high ticket items so that even if they dont sell you can just cycle.
There is an article somewhere that goes deep depth about it. Im not really too ontop of what things are worth so i just salvage draconic boots. Just trade to my other chars when i max out refinement

This game is not pay to win. It's pay for convenience.

I generally treat the game as any other game. I'll gladly send $50-$60 their way which I have since I am enjoying the game which can be said about any console game. I'll also buy an additional $20-$30 worth of zen if I find myself enjoying a new piece of content just as I would for a DLC drop on any other game.

But anyway, onto the topic. I prefer to make just about all of my money using the AD Exchange as well as the Zen Market sales and leaving soon items. I'm up to about 50k Zen which I pretty much always have in the exchange for trade and I've made quite a bit by buying items when they're on sale and waiting for prices to balance back out.

Im also enjoying trading Zen vs AD. For me its a means to get Zen without using real cash and I can not imagin players spending real monney on Zen to trade it for AD but clearly it happens.

Anyway, what I fear is that the market wil go as the pc version of the game where the rate is 1 zen for 500 diamonds all the time. If that happens there wil be no more profit to be made. Dont know how we can prevent this from happening on xbox tough? Maybe not be greedy all and keep prices around the 160 and 180 range as it is now?

    Kind regards,

It will eventually happen but it should take longer to happen than it did on the PC. There were some exploits on PC that brought a lot of diamonds into the market and it was going on for a while before being fixed. Seeing as we don't have that issue on Xbox, our economy should stay fairly stable for quite a while.

The market is not going to crash. That happened on pc because of one major exploit that went un noticed for a while, but when they tried to fix it, they made it worse. This is the second release of their game and economy... I highly doubt they will let that happen again

Like strictly evil said it will happen. Just not as fast as pc did because of the ad exploits. All zen is bought with irl money, whereas all ad comes from an unlimited source in game. So the more ad that's circulated in game, the higher zen will rise, because the value of that ad per zen goes down the more ad there is.

Well that can be fixed quite easy on pc, just make an event that shifts the composition of the diamonds. That way you get old diamonds and new diamonds. the old diamonds can be used to buy ingame stuff like before and maybe even for a time still used in zen/AD exchange. But the new diamonds will give slightly better equipment and a new zen/New AD exchange.

Old diamonds will slowly leave the game as they are spent en new AD will make a stable economy.

Sounds like a plan to me :)

    kind regards, Ood von Carr

So it's agreed then. The AD exchange will not crash unless there is an ex0poit.

No one ever said it would crash. Diamonds will always come in faster than Zen does which means that eventually yes the AD Exchange will hit the 500:1 cap. It will take much longer than it did on PC but this will still happen. It's not a question of if or how it's when. The way the game is currently set up and the way the economy is created this fact is inevitable. Nothing can stop it as long as there are more diamonds than Zen. Diamonds will always depreciate in this style of economy no questions asked.

Inflation and crashing are two completely different things but in most cases they WILL lead to the same result.
