this has probably been suggested before but: companion unbinding token

imo there should be an option to unbind a companion from character-bound to account-bound. i don't think adding this option, whether it's for AD or even zen, would greatly harm anyone, or put anyone at loss, since the companion could only be passed around one account.

it would also be helpful to me, who two years ago, bound a phoera on a character i never used. it's a bit of a bummer to say the least.
(that's what happens when your friends are like 'sure we can play this game together' and then bail on you after you bind a kickass companion on the character you made especially for that playthrough.......)

    I agree 100% with this!!

I'd like the same thing to apply to character-bound mounts as I have a shadow wolf that is forever attached to an alt. Sigh . . .

It has indeed been suggested many times before. Last time I heard they won't even consider BtA tokens, let alone full unbind tokens. They prefer the profit of people buying new ones every time a new character comes into play.

They could consider introducing such a token if it was sold for zen. of course it would be ridiculous if they went too high with the price, but even with a lower price they would get some nice money out of it, since we can pretty much guess that a lot of players would switch companions to a different character in a heartbeat. Almost everyone I know has this desire.

The only way this might fly profit-wise is if those tokens have the same price as the average companion itself. And I doubt people would pay that much. I know I wouldn't.

in many cases the player already paid the full companion price though, or sometimes even more in cases of lockbox companions. adding a lower price token to unbind to 'account bound' would just be additional profit, since it won't be someone else getting a companion through paying in-game earned AD, it will be the same player using it, on a different companion.

A BtA token would definitely make money. I know I have a few companions that I'd love to swap around if the price would be worth it. But a full unbind token.. I don't see it happen. Not because I don't want to, but because that's the last official statement made last year, during some reddit thingy I think it was.

BtA token is what i'm mostly talking about here

i can see completely why they wouldn't want a full unbind token and i understand that, but i don't see why a BtA token would cause any greater loss?
i mean if anything it could bring profit; people would probably unbind some companions (and mounts, possibly) that were gotten in-game through events to send them to a different character - these are companions that no money would HAVE to go into, but it WOULD go into them if they were turned to BtA with a token

if they sell the token at a reasonable and affordable price i can really see a lot of people buying it but that might be just me idk
