[BUG] Fatal Error: Direct3D driver returned error code (D3DERR_INVALIDCALL)

kulturnykulturny Member Posts: 22 Arc User
edited June 2015 in Bug Reports (PC)
My game keeps crashing at startup 100% of the time since release of mod6.
Starting a new thread in hope this will bring some feedback and consistency to Cryptic staff to find a server wide solution. Please check your exact error before posting a reply.

Error message:
3445mk2.png

setup:
- geforce GT 325m GPU, nvidia optimus technology
- nvidia driver 341.44, previously 340.52
- DirectX11, 64bit Win7
- NW version: NW.45.20150317a.6 (duh!)
- I do not use Arc (it is installed, but I prefer to launch the game executable directly)
- I normally run game at 1680x1050 in Dx11 mode, changing this makes no difference

troubleshooting:
- tried launching with -d3d11Enable 0
- verified all game files
- updated graphics driver
none of the above have resolved my issue

workarounds:
- launching game in safe mode (resets all graphic settings :/)
- launching game with my Intel HD GPU instead (low performance)

Refreshing this thread as it is now a month since the problems started (I waited several days before posting). This is still not resolved for me. What is more disturbing is planning to release further mods without fixing this fundamental issue. I am quite simply tired of having to each time change my launcher options and adjusting my graphics settings after starting in safe mode. Short story - game is unplayable. The workaround tedious. The overall response to my post, unknown.
I would appreciate a clear statement from community staff, if and when this will be resolved. This is still happening for me on Version: NW.45.20150416c.8

This is an ongoing and apparently worsening issue. Before this last patch I at least had the option of rebooting and that often freed up whatever was clogged in the DirectX until the next time, but now it won't run at all. Just crash.

iMac with ATI Radeon HD 4670 running Windows 7.

The fatal error has changed for me since applying windows updates today (might be just coincidence). Recording exact error message for sake of thread. Submitted new ticket #: 37156685.

They need to do something soon, because my brother has had the same issues since Mod 6 launch... And we still have not figured out how to get around it..

Me too but it went away now just crashes without that box LMAO , they won't even address it and support told me it was a DEV issue, that is after I waited for a month...yes A MONTH for an answer. Nothing mentioned in the patch notes about either but ooohhh there is something new to buy!

This is still happening in ver. NW.45.20150416c.11.

I can only relate this problem to game coding/driver support. Yes, this is DEV related. Is that bad? Lol

I had played NW for over a year without issues. I was among the lucky few to not experience the blank screen on loading last year. My PC config has not changed (save for driver updates), so nothing I can really do to fix it on my end. I hope they do get to the bottom of this one as well, for me and all the other players frustrating over it. Devs have to understand safe mode is **** annoying. That's like having to enter your house through the basement every day. That's not normal. Pretty soon you start thinking if you should buy yourself a new house.

If its being worked on another thread, I'd like this included or at least noted. Else, I will just keep spamming tickets. Funny how I never get any response to them either.

    Error in ver. NW.45.20150515a.3.
