quiet when i groups

when i enter a group everything get's extremely quiet? how can i turn that off?

    What Magenubbie says, except I'd phrase it this way; by asking you (OP) this question:

    In as much detail as possible, what IS HAPPENING when you join a group/party? This is how we can understand what's going on.

    It's the same as when someone used to say to me "My computer doesn't print!" - which says nothing. Then I'd ask "what is happening when you try to print" and then they say "I get a message that says printer not found". Now I know it's not a computer or printer problem but a network problem. See our point?
