So, since module 6 I've spent much more time on the Gateway running tier 6 Sword Coast Adventure lairs than actually playing the game. I used to get on average about 2 Loyal equipment pieces per run doing full clears. Sometimes I would clear a run without any drop, but that was a small minority of the time.
Lately, I have been lucky to get a single piece. My last 4 runs only netted me 1 Talisman of the Loyal Avenger. I figured it was a streak of bad luck, but I've noticed that the auction house prices on these items are rising, whereas for the last few weeks they were steadily falling. Cryptic/Perfect World/Arc/Whoever has a history of ninja nerfing wealth producers. Has anyone else noticed this, or am I just crazy?
They were intended to be a somewhat rare piece of equipment. Within a couple hours on the first day there were dozens on the AH, hundreds a couple days later. That's why they nerfed the drop rate. Your odds now are a lot lower.
I suspect a second nerf to come. The AH is full of them. I don't think Cryptic wants that.
I've been getting predominantly talismans and icons if I get anything. All I want is some Loyal Commander rings for my healer companions .
Then there was the one time the other day when I got 4-5 loyal items in one run. I really dislike the RNG in the game, it feels rigged for want of a better term. 'You get nothing, you get nothing, you get nothing ..., oh look you've had nothing for a while here's a load of stuff'.
As a slight aside, if you want to nerf this as a wealth producer it'd be better to make the drop rate higher so supply exceeds demand.
Honestly, I thought the drop rate was rather high to begin with, but it really pisses me off when they do these nerfs without even a notification in any patch notes, much less any explanation.
Given everything *else*, great and small, that's still plain borked in Mod 6 nevermind now in the beginning it wouldn't surprise me at all if a relatively minor detail like SCA droprates had been wonky.
Though if this were so and was quietly fixed at some point - not like tweaking SCA requires patching the game client proper after all - it'd be nice to have it mentioned. But I think we all know how good the company tends to be at that kind of thing.
I sometimes wonder if the sorporate culture of PW's American branch hasn't caught a case of the stereotypical East Asian obsession with "keeping face" from the parent company... would certainly explain a few things.
They were alot higher the first week, i was getting drops from all encounters not just chests and bosses, after the first patch after mod 6 is when i noticed the change.
Is that the same patch that lowered ToS experience and nerfed dragon horde enchants? One of these things were in the notes....
