I suggested this in a T2 and discovered how many people do not understang how this manuever works. So this is a simple workover of how to use a LoS pull to easilly elliminate difficult mobs. Some setting first:
1. Very often there are low HP high DPS mobs in DD.
2. The dispersal of these mobs often makes them difficulty to CC and destroy with your party AOE.
3. There is an old technique called a LoS pull that makes this entire exercise much easier and faster.
The mechanics. Once aggroed mobs and groups of mobs must attack the aggressor. So to LoS pull requires an understanding of LoS (Line of Sight) ranged units must have a clear Line of Site to attack anything. So the process of a LoS pull works as follows:
1. Party removes itself from LoS by standing behind a door or around a corner from mobes.
2. one memeber (GF and Pali have ranged aggro. Given neither a ranged class can fill this role) aggroes the ranges units and steps behind the wall/ door.
3. the rnaged mobs must come around the corner to target the player that targeted them.
4 Party DPS and CC is dropped on the mobs as they come around the corner.
5. High DPS low HP mobs die fast at close range where party can focus CC and DPS elliminating the threat and saving a good bit of time, trouble, and GP for kits.
The lesson. Someone in the party who knows the encounter says /party "LoS pull" and you persue this plan, explain to those who are not aware of how it works and continue to a nice easy run where aggro managemant and *gasp* skill overide composition and iLvL.....
I've never not done this. Seems stupid any other way. Perfect for archers. Sometimes I don't have a choice. Like when other party members run ahead. But if I have the lead, I pull them to a door or corner whenever/wherever possible. I like having Icy Terrain waiting for them when they get there.
You obviously are not skilled at the technique. It's useful anywhere there are archers or any ranged attacker (Unless YOU can survive a Tier 2 archer 1 shot. I'm 4.3k and they 1 shot me).

Its a useful technique, I used to use it last mod to do door to door solo CN on CW, where you put shield on tab and sprint to the next door, then hide behind the wall so the stupid red wizards had to come around the corner into CC range. It still has relevance this mod and there are several other tactics like it, personally I never actually had a name for it, it was just a common sense manoeuvre to stay alive. In fact, what I would probably have called it without you defining it so nicely is... "Cheese tactics"
Los pulling has been the name for it since mmo's have been around. Most of the f2p mmo's don't require it as they tend to be super easy. It was a vital part of raiding in WoW.

I've been playing PC games since before they had graphics. I never knew pulling like this had a name. I did it in WOW and I've been doing in this game since beta. Helps me take down "larger than I'm supposed to" groups. Seemed like a simple choice.
Generically useful technique whenever a game engine honors LoS and has ranged mechanics, not just for online games, since essentially forever... used it in UO, EQ, WoW, etc. It's actually become more surprising when it doesn't work (i.e. non-clipping terrain that SHOULD block attacks, but doesn't...).
Using LoS to your advantage is such an integral part of gaming mechanics that I'm genuinely surprised any gamer needs it explained. I guess it would be understandable if this was your first game with any ranged combat in it.
