The life of Neverwinter

So, I'm just going to get right to it- The game still feels dead after almost 2 months. The only chatter we get is for selling things, and fighting dragons. Why, do you think is the game like this? Why can't we hold normal conversations like on so many different MMO's?

Are you feeling that the game is dry already? I've found the population is dwindling MAJORLY since release- They are popping events left and right to keep us active. Is the dropping of events every week working in keeping you active?

I find it to be a number of different things; The Chat system is simply broken, because they don't have the game separated into different tabs for one. For two, many players have never played a real MMO before. They don't know what it's like, and Neverwinter being the first for many, may not be a good thing. It's meant to nickel and dime people to death to be the best player, and if people don't have the funds, they will quit- bringing me to the first point. People are quitting for one of three reasons; They've completed the end game content for the time being and are leaving until updates; They don't want to be paying hundreds to stay competitive; They are constantly being kicked from dungeons, and as such they do not wish to play anymore.

I, for one, like the game- I've created a decent guild with a decent active body, and we can run dungeons now and again without issues. We all have been enjoying the game a lot, and have very little issues with end game stuff. HOWEVER, the lack of players is off-putting to us- Do we want to put effort in a game that is already seeing dwindling numbers? Hell, even the enclave has seemed dead for the past few days now.

My final thing is this; With a new MMO on the horizon (ESO), will you continue to play this game as often as before? Have you already quit Neverwinter and are preparing for ESO? Will you even try ESO?

I'm very interested in seeing what the release of ESO does to Neverwinter.

@ and someone spamming a trade deal every second. Outside of the enclave the system is bugged so the text vanishes off the screen within seconds. As such the ingame chat system is essentially pointless for anything other than trying to get dragon invites and that is painful with the chat bug.

If you add the rampant unchecked exploiting and unfixed day one bugs that this game has its long term prospects are looking shaky at best. Looking forward to see how eso does as they made some good changes since its pc launch.

Neverwinter is a decent game but it needs active developers which doesn't seem to be the case, shame.

Can you not turn off channels like trade on the xbox version or create new chat tabs? Turning off trade and lfg masked pe way more enjoyable if you're not using them. Also reporting someone for spam auto ignites on the pc version. Hopefully toy can do that too.

You cannot do any of that on the xbox version.

Hey guys you mentioned eso, quick question, is the new ESO a "new" game or a reboot of the other eso? Is it possible to do first person view point? Is it anything like skyrim?

As far as ppopulation, i haven't noticed a drop, basically same to me. The chat could be changed with filters. Deposit gold in shared bank is driving me crazy, so many updates and yet they just can't activate that dang "A" button.

Um i dont, however, see any mmos coming out on xbox that can compare to the free to play on pc. (I wish i had a comp)

ESO is a port from the PC version of ESO, JUST like XB1 Neverwinter is just PC Neverwinter, downgraded, and ported to XB1.

I can assure you, Neverwinter is a Class B MMO on PC- Only reason it's not terrible on XB1 is because that's all we have access to at this time.

I truly hope to see Neverwinter XB1 to be more than just Neverwinter PC, but I doubt that....

There's a difference between a free MMO on PC and a free MMO on console. On PC people who are interested in MMO's will go looking for MMO's amongst thousands of free games. On a console where the amount of free games are very few? "Hey kids! Here's a "free" game where you can play dress-up, ride horsies and kill lizards! Yay! Oh, and go get moms creditcard." That's the difference in the clientele and that's why NW on XBOX won't fail or lose players/suckers.

I will stick with NW for a while, but since i loved Skyrim i will certainly buy ESO and cross my fingers that it's actually functioning (or atleast, improve with time) without lag, freezing, kicking, etc, etc, etc, and that the devs actually are listening and doing changes to idiotic design choices that everybody hates.

Don't get me wrong; I know NW will not fail. I know, however, more mature players (adults or young adults going through college) will not stick around this 'free to play' model, at least as hard core players. Of course, I am wrong as I know many will continue to play, so I kind of contradict myself BUT- Overall, players will leave because of those things, given the younger ones will stay (I'm sure summer break will see an influx of new players)

I also still like the game. Getting to 15.2k GS (with minimal cash spent on it, may I say I've only spent 80$ which was on a mount, Dragonborn pack and some keys). It surely was an in-the-moment purchase for me that I do not regret as I've acquired 250 hours of gameplay since day 1. I will stick with the game in a more casual manor (haven't spent a dime since the first week and have been doing pretty good with getting AD and such), though I don't have high hopes to see amazing content. We will get the regurgitation of the PC version, which is fine, but I would still like exclusive Xbox stuff.

Theres nothing to talk about, its a shallow action diablo type mmo, with very little to do but kill.things

So..everybody just kills things and sells/buys in chat

So you don't think it deserves the MMO title?

I could agree there, it needs some major work.
