Limit Amount of Items Able to Auction

rhapsodicalrhapsodical Member Posts: 2 Arc User
It's become so bad that some people put 1 of each item and you can never get to the items that are actually at decent prices. People shouldn't need more than 5 slots of stuff per character.

Or just give us more Auction House options to let see the lowest priced items so we don't have to see the trolls with their outrageous prices only.

Huh? I don't follow. My take is most things on the AH are underpriced because people with poor math skills undercut stuff until no profit can be made. Also, the lowest priced buyouts are listed first in my display. What are you looking for hat you can't find?

How does it affect you if I choose to post multiple items up on the AH?

Look, if you have 400 items with no buyouts, it's going to show just those 400 items. It's not going to show you the non-buyout prices at all, as the search is limited to 400 items.
Example: Searching for Mark of Potency may result in showing 400 items with starting bids and no buyouts.

The other issue at hand is that, say, there's 400 items with low buyouts. Those are going to show before the bigger stacks of higher buyouts. Say the last thing out of the 400 you can view is a 1 stack of (X) at (x,HAMSTER). If I wanted to sell in bulk of 10 and leave a discount for buying more than 1 at a time, I would not be able to as nobody will ever see my listing as the buyout will not reach that high (due to the 400 item max search)

The more single stacks posted, the less the larger stacks are going to show if there's 9,000 of that item on the market lol.

What we need is to see more than 400 items from a AH search.

Just search Gift of the Gods in consumables. You got 1 person controlling the 400 slots pretty much. They even named their characters Bot 1 and Bot 2 and another. I can't view a single Buyout item or see anything that is decently priced and bid on.

All they need is the do is make it is make it so we can toggle we can see lowest buyout and lowest high bid. It's simple MMO Auction House and they can't even do that correctly.

Seeing more than 400 items wouldn't really work either as they would just create more characters most likely unless you mean seeing every single one of that item listed then yes that would work too. But I'd be scared if I saw 4,000 items listed cause you know you are going to be searching for awhile.

Just 2 littles things to add to check mark.

    View Lowest Priced Buyout
    View Lowest Priced Bid

and all the problems are solved

Posts are limited already to 40 per toon. Just becouse some people abuse the 400 max showing does not mean that all people do.. however for someone who owns a huge part of the market if they have the ability to manage all 400 slots. Then realistically they should and do whatever it takes to sell off their goods.
Best way to combat bid only posters controling a market is to undercut them bid only and undercut their time posted. They have a 5 day post for 10k AD. You undercut 9999AD with a 24 hour timer.
But yes AH needs to be fixed. So many good deals are pushed back by bad deals.....
I quit playing PC version becouse of the AH. Back when it 1st came out. But now i have no cpu. And this is the only mmo on console now. However i will be playing this for a while. Please fix the AH.

    Totally agree.
I'm glad that they did the auction house somewhat more functional after the update, but the 400 max results and the (still) limited search options makes it impossible to sell or buy some things. As said, Mark of Potency is one thing that you just can't buy or sell at the auction house or any other object that floods the results with just bid prizes.

Another example: I sold Residuum in stacks of 10-20, but then the AH got flooded with more people selling, cutting their stacks to 5 just to appear in the search result and then cutting to 1, forcing everyone to sell 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1... if they want anything sold. idiotic, unpractical and time consuming.

And now with this Tymora's Gift event when people are getting stacks of rank 1-3 enchantments that they don't want. I suppose there's people out there who'd like to buy stacks of everything but that's absolutely out of the question. We have to sell them to vendors for nothing or just throw them away.

More search results and the option to show just buy out/just bids and maybe something like and option to search for a set amounts in a stack. 0-10, 11-20, 21-30...

I agree entirely about the concept though. If there's 400 items with no buyouts you're not going to find the ones WITH buyouts.

Solution? Search by minimum quantity? (Questionable)
Search option to search for items with buyout only? (DING DING DING! WINNER!)

Refine your search then! I have no problem finding what I want. if you're looking for a specific enchantment then search "dark enchantment" if you want a specific rank then search "rank 8". If you concentrate and think for once you would figure this out instead of making me laugh when I read things like this.

    Wow.
It's funny/tragic with people like you. Making fun of others while looking totally idiotic themselves.

on pc it is limited to 40 posts. it should be the same on console if it is not they need to change it. its a anti bot measure.

They have the limit. The OP wants a much smaller limit... like 5 items. Funny thing is the problem isn't the current posting limit, it's the current search result set limitations. If they aren't going to give us column filters and custom sorting, then we absolutely need to be able to go beyond the 400 item limit.

agreed. you got my vote i wish theyd let us refine it more for the pc too. esp with enchants like picking weapon enchants and armor enchants specifically.
