im trying to build up my character but whatever group i am in I am a burdon. I am usually the weakest and if we fail i know it is my fault. are their any ways i can build up with out holding others back? i am a scourge warlock and my total gear score is 7718. any help is appreciated
don't worry about being the lowest on the list, farm cloak tower (5200 gs required ?) and build up a few seals, buy a couple pieces from the unicorn seal vendor to hit 8300, then farm the pirate king and buy some drake seal armor. after you get enough armor then run specific dungeons to get the required armor set for your build and class.
are you following someones build or are you building your own ? do you know the gear you need for end game ?
no i dont know the best gear right now i have slaughter warlock gear from trades of blades merchant that i bought with glory points. along with infernal diabolists boots i got from the wolfden
You just play man. Have fun, you are not holding anyone back if you meet the min required Gs for a dungeon, that's why it is there. Play, have fun and your toon will grow strong. If he really is just squishy, start over, I did with a 57gf. My new 60gf is a monster, he's amazing, and I almost have enough coin for the Barbie dream horse, get one too, we can be the Barbie guild, seriously tho, find a tank.
I play with plenty of people that wouldn't mind taking you thru t1s and t2s the get your gs up. Once you find a good group of ppl it's not hard to do the dungeons, the problem is actually finding a decent group lol. With the game how it is, I tend to add anyone who's a good dungeon runner (not necessarily in skill just talks so it doesn't get boring in an hour long dungeon and doesn't try to kick every time there's no cleric) and I'd be more than happy to help you out.
Like stated tho start at the bottom and work your way up. Don't jump right into ToS and SP right at 8300 (unless you're playing with a group that doesn't mind a little tougher run) you can hit 10k off of t1s alone fairly easy.
Just some more tip bits of advice. Save your astral D's for purple slotted shirt and pants. If you play PVP, save up for the artifact. If you can, also start to invest in lvl 7 enchantments. If you decide to put some money in the game, get the Ion Stone of Allure before you get anything else. It will not increase your gear score, but will help increase your stats to were you will be the most helpful, I believe it is a most when your trying to gear up to endgame.
Really? I'd like to see you run CN with a group of 9200's....
Seriously?, why would some farm cn if they don't have all their t1 gear set up? How can you only have the min requirements, I have almost 10k and I wear 7 peices of 55-58 common gear, where will I be when I'm all t1. And yes, if everyone only had the minimum it would be possible, hence the minimum requirement. Maybe not with a group of scrubs.....but five well organized players with the right balance, for sure.

My advice... While gear is important, it is NOT as important as a good build, well played. Decide how you want to contribute to the party. Who doesn't love a temptater lock out healing the claric and still DPSing like mad? Do some research in the class forums and look at the different builds.
If you've been playing for a while, then you likely have some AD, go hit the trade market and just outright buy some decent gear (always look for a buyout option first). Have multiple characters farm AD, and raid the market for decent gear for yer main.
thanks alot for the info and the advice. i lucked out last night and found acouple good peaopl and ran 3 dungeons. my gear score is now around 8500 we hit pirate acouple times and i bought the drake armor. also won acouple pvp. im working on getting some enchantment stones now. if anyone wants to run some dungeons my xbox name is short n ugly i have a mic and can talk
My advice to you is don't run before you can walk.....
I myself don't mind carrying people through dungeons, but unless you know your class I'd suggest keep with T1 dungeons until you get the FULL T1 gear of your choice. Why you ask? As this will give you the foundation you need to know your class, before venturing off into the headbanging T2 dungeons. Personally Drake Seal gear is pointless for us, as we need that set bonus to be any worth (again, coming from experience as I got Drake gear and salvaged my T1 after I got my T2 arms and feet).
As a fellow SW, I know how you feel; and I've had to respec a few times to get my build to what I have now.
Bare in mind, DPS isn't the be all and end all for our class. We aren't build for range, and not to be right up there.... BUT going a Temptation Warlock will not only help you out (due to feats and DR) but the team, and at least going this path you can run with both the Diabolist set or Mage set.
After costing me about 1500 zen, I discovered this guide which really helped with what we as a class can do as it has all paths for Hellbringer tested.
Also, it's worth reading this to understand where our diminishing returns hit, making you a more rounded and helpful SW.

Be certain to have gems in all yer gear slots.
