Beware of Scams and Ripoffs! All players read here!

PSA To All New & Not New Players!
Beware of SCAMS and RIPOFFS! READ this information or you might get ripped off or scammed!!

Average Gold to AD Value is 1g=1,000 AD. (flamers note I said AVERAGE, this can fluctuate but not as much as you pretend it does)

Before making trades, CHECK the Auction House (look for the lower buyouts, not the bids) for a value on what you have.
Don't sell artifact belts for 100 gold. The cheapest ones are worth at least 160 gold (160k AD) up to 800 gold (800k AD)
There are many people who talk in trade chat to try and rip you off. NEVER sell items without checking their value and knowing JUST what your item is worth.

Dragon Eggs for instance, people are spamming that they will pay 10-15g each when they will just turn around and sell it on the AH For 22-25k AD! You are losing about 10-15g.
I have called out a few people in trade chat on their poor business models. They are there to rip you off for HIGH PROFIT because of naivety and people who do not know any better.
Other things to watch out for:

Anyone who is offering something cheap (ex: Assassin drake for 200k!) They will ask you to buy something OTHER than the Assassin Drake and they will give you the Assassin Drake in trade once you buy some POS with AD. This way nobody can buy it before you do when they put it up (or so they say...) This is a LIE, it is a SCAM, as soon as you buy what they tell you to they will disappear or ignore you and never give you what they promised.
Sales for AD + Items/Gold. Example: Rage Drake for 400k AD + 100 Gold. They will tell you they will put some cheap POS like a dungeoneering kit or something completely useless on the AH for 400k for you to buy, then you will trade them 100 gold for the Rage Drake.
NEVER do trades like this! Either make sure the entire trade is done on the Auction House for AD, or in a trade window for items/gold. You are at risk of getting screwed over! They WILL take the money and run!
ALWAYS know your item value when someone makes an offer. Make sure it's a deal you are comfortable with. And if you REALLY want to sell that Dex belt for 400 GOLD, come talk to me and I'll pay you a lot more AD value than that! Guaranteed!!!!!

Easy way to turn AD into Gold: Buy Epic Dungeon Keys for 5,000 AD. Sell in Trade Chat for 5-6 gold per key. Don't get screwed over, this is a foolproof method. People WILL buy them.
This information gained from being on this game from day 1 and watching trades/sales/scams/markets/values/trades/offers.

I can say that the person always saying
    Buying Artifact Belts 100g Each!
    Buying Artifact Belts 100g Each!
    Buying Artifact Belts 100g Each!
(we all know the guy.... No name, all shame! HAH!)
Is one of the people I am talking about. And when I started spamming actual value and he was a ripoff, he started spamming me messages telling me to grow up and that if people were stupid enough to sell to him it wasn't his problem...... Taking advantage of people who don't know any better doesn't make you right. All I have to say is, if you think the vote kick system is bad..... Scammers are worse. I'd rather get kicked on a dungeon boss than have my money taken from me.

And the whole "You can't scam people" mentality makes me angry. Almost as much as the "Well if they're that stupid" response some of these guys give me when I tell them to cut it out. We NEED in game admin support on these issues. I'd say add a report button, but we all know how the ticket system is going. The reporting system would be worse...

So do you also go around pawn shops IRL and call them out for offering 1/10th of the value of the item they are buying? or is it just on online games that it annoys you when people merchant?

Most People know eggs are 20-25k on AH, but they need the gold to buy Preservation wards and Marks of potency and other goods but cant be bothered to list them on the AH and wait for them to sell.

If you honestly think that people Buying eggs for 15gea is a "RIPOFF" and that you feel the need to come moan on the forums about it and to try tell people how to play, you need to go get a grip and sort your priority's out.

I'm not a scammer... but man do I start to feel like one when I set a DC Draconic Helm for sale in the AH, undercut the lowest buyout by 10%... and still make 600k AD off of selling it. The thing REALLY isn't worth that much. But if that's what people are willing to pay... I'm not really going to complain.

If someone was willing to sell me a new corvette for $1,000, I would buy it from them and not feel bad.

This is how I feel about complaints related to so-called scammers.

Don't feel like a scammer mrtehpuppy! If that's what the item is selling for than that's what its selling for. At least you didn't ask someone for 300K AD and then run off with their diamonds.

Yes the mixed currency trading is a rip off. Some real useful info there to help new comers.

Buying low and selling high is NOT ripping someone off, it's called conducting business. Unless you actually think people charge you what stuff costs to make in stores. If that is the case... words just can't express it.
