Hi Everyone,

I was wondering what you Guardian Fighters use for powers and potions when fighting dragons and the reason you have chosen to use these powers/potions?

I have been using the following powers:

Lunging Strike (Rank 3)
Handy to charge back when thrown away from a dragon
Enforced Threat (Rank 4)
Harms other enemies nearby that can interfere with fighting the dragon
Griffon’s Wrath (Rank 4)
Decent damage
Supremacy of Steel (Rank 3)
Harms other enemies nearby that can interfere with fighting the dragon
Indomitable Strength (Rank 4)
Great damage

I have been using a Superior Tidespan Potion prior to a fight with a dragon for the increased recovery. My action points and cooldown times improves a great deal with this increased recovery allowing me to deal more damage. I am curious if a Superior Potion of Force with its increase of damage would be better than a Superior Tidespan Potion.

When I know a dragon can hit me hard I use a Potion of Dragon Slaying and a Scroll of Protection from Dragons.

I also equip my Artifact of Stability (Which has a healing buff) to help others around me and this allows me take more damage.

I would love to hear from other Guardian Fighters to learn what Powers, Potions, Scrolls and Artifacts you use when fighting dragons.

Thanks!

Most of my dragon-fighting lately has been eLOL helping friends gear T1. I use LS, GF, and KB for encounters. I try to hold griffin back and spend multiple charges after using VM to establish aggro. The dot on KB sustains a lot of aggro between cycles. Honestly taking a few breath weapons to the shield keeps me rich enough in AP that I am in VM most of the fight. Mostly my concern is on maintaining a safe direction for my party and ibntercepting the arrows attack.

In elol, my typical encounter choice is KV, Anvil or Kneebreaker, and ItF, with crushing surge and tide of iron for at-wills, VM and FR for dailies, and guarded assault and steel defense. Even as a conq, I find this to be the most successful setup for a win.

For the hourly dragon runs, if I'm not in a party, I would use lunging or bull for the added DR. Timed just right (and eating the breath attacks with my shield), I can have Steel Defense up for about 75% of the fight.

    Regular dragons?

Knights Challenge, Kneebreaker, Lunge. Shield Warrior's Wrath, Guarded Assault, Fighters Recovery, Crushing Surge, Tide of Iron

Knights Challenge gives me more damage against the dragon, reduces damage done to allies and forces it to face me. Whenever it attacks me(especially the dragon breath), I reflect its damage back with Guarded Assault, which works brilliantly with knights challenge running and Fighters Recovery, healing me. Kneebreaker just keeps on ticking damage as the fight goes on.

For Elol I base my powers on surviving and keeping aggro whilst doing some dps incase Some players die and I need to kill it.

    Elol dragon setup:

Encounters: anvil of doom, Into the frey and my 3rd power changes. I usually use either commanders strike or iron warrior depending on the party. KV to me is always a bad choice in Elol no matter the party. It always made it worse and survivability was better for everyone without me using it.

Dailys: Fighters recovery and villains menace.

Class feats: Shield talent and steel defence.

I use tide of iron as my main at-will. Decreasing dragons dr and giving me perma guard is really helpful and a few times with this set-up I have soloed the dragon at half way when we had bad luck but tht would be insanely hard without fighters recovery and steel defence combo. If your about to die you can heal full back again and safely regain your guard or use the immunity to block his target attck.

    ___________

For dragon heralds I go full dps to speed things up.

Encounters: Anvil of doom, commanders strike, flourish.

Dailys: fighters recovery and villains menace but I only relly use fighters if it lags and I take a heavy hit otherwise I keep using villains for dmg.

Class feats: Combat superiority and shield warriors wrath.

I use crushing surge as my main at-will. It hits as hard as some encounters so can deal some very good dps.
