This has drastically improved my lag situation.

Hit ESC, go to option, click the graphics tab, reset to defaults(bottom left corner). Once the screen returns slide the render quality all the way to the left. Lag should now be reduced, may take a complete restart of the game, but well worth it. Hope this helps someone out there. Good luck.

I fixed my lag on NWO by going to the SquareEnix website and renew my sub for FFXIV:ARR.

Turn the game quality to Stained Toilet mode.

    Better yet, just change instance.

It's possible that the OP doesn't know the difference between graphics lag and server response lag. What we are seeing and reporting has nothing to do with graphics settings or even the network between us and cryptic's servers. The issue is indicative of heavily virtualized servers that become so overloaded they take in overly long time to respond to what is happening in the game and your inputs. I know a lot of folks have been trying to help here, but if you want to help put in a bug report, include your tracert to patchserver.crypticstudios.com while you are in an instance that his having heavy server lag issues. You will notice that your ping doesn't really change between a lagged instance and a non lagged. One is getting on time server updates, and one is not. Cryptic is well aware of the issue but for whatever reason is unable to respond about it or even acknowledge it. One can only hope that doesn't mean that it is being ignored.

lol, i just tried to get on with my last fiery pit quests but it's rubberbanding to hell and back right now :D, even zone chat took notice
Popped to Spinward for a change - not a delay (part from the usual multi-combat mess) to be seen

Same. Just to a different title. Cheers.
Telling us about upcoming content updates, and getting those updates out the door BUG-FREE, is *AWESOME*!! Know what's even *MORE* awesome? Fixing game breaking bugs (and/or undocumented "features") that have been in EXISTING content for months/years!!! Guess which one makes me want to spend money on a game much more than the other? Hint: It's the "more awesome" one.

Same here. I've abandoned Fiery Pit - it's been unplayable (for me) for a couple of days but Spinward is OK. For the record: graphics setting make no difference.

It could be that easy as money.
They are probably evaluating if this game is still worth investing in or not.

    FFXIV:All Rubberbanding Removed
    ...............vote for your favourite expansion..........
"Mod 6. Oh my f****** god. It gutted the game pure and simple. And what wasn't gutted was messed up by the poorly thought out new level cap and equip. The game never recovered from that atrocity".
    ..............not this one then.............

I've noticed that changing map instances to one with the fewest players helped greatly with the recent lag problem.

I haven't been able to verify this or not, but rumor has it there are now new quantities of deet-free "Lag Monster Repellent" available in the Zen store, available for the special low price of 10,000 Zen. It's under the Mythical Companion section, along with the Chromatic Dragon mounts, and The Woman That Looks Good, Cooks, and Cleans.

Can anyone verify whether that made it in this mod? Maybe it's coming in Mod 7...

I've noticed the lag issue has not been as bad recently for me. I don't think cryptic fixed anything for it, just less players playing now since mod 6 release.

My lag only takes place in the fiery pit.

Last night I went to Shandar, The Well, The Ring and Spinward plus IWD.... no lag

    But

    The Pit was unworkable

    What's up?

I did try to change instances as I've read the suggestion from the forums before (regarding dungeons tho), went from the most crowded one - 12 players - to the least populated one - 2 players. Absolutely no difference. And there were only 5 instances :/ (under 35 ppl in total - at least at the time)

We might need Sherlock in on this one - The Curious Case of the Fiery Lag
