Today I got finally my last elven piece for my CW, after I upgraded it with black ice crafting and was using it I realized that it pushed my item level by 5. 5 Points. The stat difference to the t2 equip is huge, about 2k hp and 300 stats so I cant imagine that the item lvl difference from the BIS equip and the normal T2 is just 5.
Just want to hear some thought or maybe it is also just a bug?

Totally agree with you.
That s just ridiculous to get only +2 ilvl and very few stats when you see the time/skill/stuff/ressources required to get there.
Moreover i will say that difference between T2 gear and T1 gear is not big enough either and Set (like High vizir etc) disapeared.

I think you should have looked hard at the Collections tab before you committed all that Black Ice and Unified Elements to the tiny upgrade.
For some people it's worth it, as a status indicator if nothing else, but personally there's no way I'm bothering with the upgrade.

This.
You're better off spending resources on getting better enchants that will give you more on stats rather than the pointless +40 +30 +80 you'll find on the pieces of those sets.
Was checking them yesterday and It is ridiculous and totally not worth it.

It's not a bug buddy.
That's what you get because the numbers are just too small.
I noticed the same thing last night. I got the elemental alliance assault robes from a drop, gave me nothing but + on stats and got a noticeable +5 upgrade on item level.
If you want to raise your item level you need to get +100's on stats and the only way you'll ever get those and past anything over 2.2K IL is high tier enchants (lvl 10+) and legendary off/main and artifacts.
But even so. Don't sweat too much over armor etc.
By the time the newly announced Mod 8 hits we'll have to throw those away too.
Best investment in game is high tier enchants, grab them when you can.
It's the best AD investment and survive Mod switching to significantly impact how you'll cope with upcoming changes.
At least that's my experience.

I checked this out on preview.. saw the black ice and AD and UE costs ..
which is why my top 3-4 will get pvp sets, and ignore the rest of that other junk.
