Before mod 6 best gear was slightly better than lower tier gear, no big hp increase, little more damage etc. It scaled nicely.
What is the idea of new gear ? AS much HP as possible ? Other stats don't matter ?
Before mod 6 -less hp and less damage, worked well. Why increase it all to make the game more WOW like ? What is so cool about big numbers floating on the screen ? So people feel more heroic ? Come on. What's the goal ?
Healing potions outdated.
Companions too powerfull at low levels, die like fly at high levels. (same for SW puppet)
Armor doesn't matter, mobs ignore it all.
Old gear outdated.

I think it's a "my HAMSTER is bigger than your HAMSTER" thing... a useful marketing tactic to lure over WoW and DDO players by saying "hey look, you, too can crit 6-digit numbers!"

LOL think you hit it on the head there. Do not understand why any one would need 100k HP. Why not have 1k HP and enemy's would b scaled the same.

Big numbers in the old school days just meant longer more epic fights, not this 1-shot and I am dead, why does it matter if I have 1hp or a million?
I can't help but think back the 1980's and to that d4 that my D&D wizard would get to roll.
"Oh great! A one again." (scowls at dice and examines it for imperfections).
2d8 or 2d10 was AMAZING damage back in the day.
There is really no need for these massive numbers. But the Bi$ players like to jerk off over it.
