This isnt a rant, not at all, this is my perspective on making content that's doable, but never will be done, by very poor decisions that were implemented on it.
These items below, should be implemented ASAP IF they are going to keep tia in the format its now in, AKA massive amount of Defense that needs massive amount of arp to overcome. At this point, poeple roll in and JUST sit by fire waiting for the 15-20 mins to pass to collect minor rewards and then punch out.
A. STOP the scaling immediately, this is a terrible decision you put into place here.
B. Instead of putting a level limit, PUT a arp limit to enter Tia, yes Im dead serious, there are so many people who just dont understand the issue with tia, why they are not doing any DPS at all.. becuase they have old 20% or so arp. Raise a cap issue of 35% to enter (I would prefer 40%, but at least thats in shooting distance, with multiple debuffs into place)
C. ALLOW teams of 25 to be made, in a raid group.. other games do it, heck Ive been in groups of 100 for open world pvp battles before, of course you cant monitor everything, but its doable.
D. FIX issues revolving around lag for paladins and DCs, we need to heal, at least in part and some of our most powerful tools creates issues. Please fix these.
E. Its my opinion that both IWD and WoD should be 70 only zones, stop the scaling in them, this would solve most of the issues honestly.
In conclusion, I LIKE the ideal of weekly horde contribution, its a good change, but at the same time, it totally gates players out of contributing, ALLOW contributions even at 100% max, this is the simple solution to this issue and would allow everyone to both complete their quests and not penalize players about the tier performance.
AT the moment, no one can get linus via Tia, and many of us still have alts we need to get boons with in addition the greater cloaks.
This is fairly critical on going forward with whatever happens.
Of course, you could just drop arp needs down to 30 or something. But at the moment, you are totally allowing poeple into the instance, that cannot contribute.. at all.
For item B, gating via Arp, or any stat, seems like an iffy solution. Isn't Arp not important for healers? What about them? The issue may be bigger than Arp because I've been in a Tia where no one even touched her. They all fought near the stairs. It was very sad. Info on stats could be explained during the tutorial, or when the player gets their first piece of gear with Arp, like the message they get when they get a scroll of identification for the first time. I agree something has to happen. I don't see how people are gonna atttempt Tia with even a remote hope at a fighting chance.
For item E, if IWD and WoD were to become lvl 70, would it be as easy as it was before? What about Shar and Dread? The Mod5 facerolling was boring and uneventful. Now there are epic moments and casualties. More interesting.
Getting a 25-strong party would be sweet. I agree there. It would call for a UI with no portraits.

It was thought arp was unimportant, but after some testing a few mods back, Kaelic explored the relationship between arp and buffing purposes and it was found to take it into effect. So no, its not unimportant, thats why I suggest 35, you can easily get to that point even on a healer, its not like you dont need it to run dailies either, or even pvp.
I would be open to all suggestions if something is implemented to allow us to proceed with this again. Its just foolish how its set up now.
People are rolling into this thing with 15-16% arp or lower.. duh, dont you understand why you are not doing ANY damage.
I really doubt that most of these ideas will be implemented despite (or cynically even because) they seem quite decent.
What MIGHT be done though (perhaps next mod?) is to have all boon grinds at level 70 only. That would at least help newbies from constantly getting one-shot at level 60 and rage-quiting the game...

And what about classes like clerics and guardians ? Arp should not be that important for all classes, but they still can be useful to boosting dps of others.

So I guess I ask the question, if we dont gate it out on arp.. what do you do it on, clearly its never going to work, this isnt a try harder situation, this is because 80% or more of the people don't read the forums, dont HAVE a clue that they need vast amounts more arp then they had to do this and are just popping in to the 1-2 instances trying. There are clearly people doing this with even less then 20%.. more in tune with 10-15% area, some even lower.
In other games, a end game raid would have the highest requirements, not basically one of the lowest.
No.... hes just there where people afk at campfire for the hopes of a dragon egg (if they still drop from losses? lol).
It does, cause i got one, though im not sure if you can get one from afking. I have been on Tiamath this monday and we made it to 2nd or 3rd npc channeling phase and run out of time.
Also Armor pen isnt everything when you deal piercing dmg
Imo allowing players to create big raids will ruin social part of NWO as players will always look for those most geared and rest will ahve to .f.ck off just like with dungeons, so pretty much removing any chance of progression except buying expensive items from AH.
The only good thing that i can agree with is creating some min item lvl cap to improve the chance of killing it. I'd suggest something around 1.8k so new players can get some experience until they get BIS gear, since not everybody had the chance to pre-farm all BIS items with little effort pre m6.

you DONT even need that much! But ya, I dont DISAGREE with you, the real issue here is the designers, made this with a need for 60% arp, but then allowed DPS with NO gating mechanic.
WE CANT even self gate and that truly is a issue, if you were building a team to defeat tia, you would clearly ask what the persons Arp is.
So either they need to LOWER arp requirements, or ALLOW us to build are own teams, OR put a gate on this.
Something has to give to allow people to earn linus.

you can have a entire team with 1.8 average gear score .. good luck with that =P.
You are totally wrong, creating your own groups is how you learn, how you grow in any mmo ive ever played. Random solo queing does nothing to build a social community.. zip, zero, nada.

I do realize that even a group full of 2.5k would have a problem. My point is that in future when people will have better gear they will still insist on facerolling the content which will prevent new players from even getting in to a fight until they over gear it. Current system at least gives those players small chance.
A small chance is all they have to even play in a 1600ils dungeon do to all the kicked players before they get a chance to even try. 9/10 times I queue into a kick vote due to low stats. This is not good.
- the fight is nerfed into oblivion just like T1s were. Then the rewards have to be nerfed seriously too. Giving protector's seal gear to randoms sitting at spawn and doing HAMSTER for the whole run is kinda insulting given it's only marginally better than blue T1 drops while purple lvl 137 items are here for bragging rights.
- the fight isn't nerfed but we get private instances. Adds could do a bit more damage since now it's really ridiculously low. Then, it's fine and we get an epic raid boss in neverwinter to play with our friends!

Ok so I just started playing Neverwinter and you are telling me the only way to get into raid content is via a random que? Like a Dungeon Finder type thing? WTH is the ******ed logic behind that? That is so anti end-game PVE community oriented are they trying to kill their own game? Not saying raiding is the only kind of end-game PVE games can have or should have but why make any kind of group focused content for your game that can only be accessed via random que and not with a group of your own friends?

Here is the issue..
allowing people not ready to enter the top instance in the game, just makes it unplayable to everyone.. including those people. I can THINK of no other game that would allow this, literally any other mmo, ever, Ive ever played since EQ 1.
Its the worse implementation Ive ever seen. When it could be steam rolled by even just a basic gear set up, it was still hard on some instances, due to how low the requirements were and people who were not set up to do it.

Maybe this is what Devs want. If you cant progress through specific encounter it doesnt get old = they dont have to work on releasing new one anytime soon.
Most people know that players have their own channels where they can try to enter in the same to lower the chance of getting in with low geared players. Ofc this is so much harder now, since nobody have killed Tiamath yet and very few players bother going there, so it's hard for PUG's to even fill that first instance.
They could also try to add some kind of entry fee. For example, everybody who enter needs to pay "X" AD, if you dont achieve score with min "X" you wont get your AD back after encouter is over. This way it would discourage afkers and low geared players, since most wouldnt want to risk losing if they know they cant reach that min score with their gear.

We tried hard but with the alloted time we were barely able to kill the summoners. I got one Dragon egg though.
