Yes as a good idea for you to get some additional lockbox business as well as compromise and help redeem the issues with the new mod I think you folks should make all mounts Bind to account on equip, if they are already equipped then make those bound to account as well, this would be a satisfactory and suitable commendations for the clear and present issues ongoing at this time, this would also help out older players who have just made a new character and do not want to spend Zen to get another mount from lock boxes if they already have one, which honestly should have been done along time ago to these mounts coming out of boxes, Bind to account on equip, please do this to all mounts please

I wouldn't want them to be bound to account for everyone buying them off the AH (scared to think what might happen to the relatively cheap zen store account wide mounts then), BUT I see no reason why they couldn't be bound to account for the person who actually got lucky with the lockbox RNG

NO. Why would anyone buy mounts through AH anymore then ? Do you want epic mounts to be sold for 50k each ? They are supposed to be rare.

LOL!!! The lockbox mounts are not more rare than the Zen Shop mounts. Just look around. Beetles, apparatuses, etc are not more rare than Tiger, Leopard, Drake and Crab mounts. If you want "rare" cosmetic mounts, try the 50% speed Zen Shop horses. You just don't see them.

When I got a mount from the lockbox I sold them at once. They all drop in values sharply over time and serve no practical purpose and sadly are not bound to account.

actually it would increase their sale of lock box keys and among other things make the customers happy to

It may increase the sale of lockbox key but it will decrease sale of Purple mount from Zen market.

so I got a rage drake for 1.2 mill ad @ 1 time, lol now they worth 4.4mil AD so wtf is this drop in value mess, lol wow

I don't think many people know when did you get the rage drake for 1.2 million AD but I am sure those who bought an Apparatus at 4.4 million know there are looking at heaps of them below 1 million AD in the AH.

lol sure the crappy looking 110% mounts will go down in price a lot but the good looking mounts and other mounts people seem to go for will increase in price and value if they are Bind to account on equip

What are the "good looking" mounts? When I got a mount to sell from the lockbox it was always the best looking mount ever but when I don't get it, it looks like a pile of dragon dung.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    again with this argument.

can you please just link me or point me out to a FOR PROFIT company that gives all their services for free until their money dries up and they go out of business.

please for the love all that is holy point me to a company that does this.

There is a BIG difference between reasonable , value added monetization, and very clearly exploitive pricing models.

Its not appropriate to list similar games with cash shops, and the very blatant differences in pricing and policy (account wide vs. single character, etc...) But, there are quite a few F2P games out there that offer better store values across the board. It would be one thing if there was not several more positive examples, but there are.

Not to mention the extremely disingenuous act of changing something that was account bound, to being character bound, long after you purchased it.

Yeah, they need to make money, but being exploitive will just ensure that they will invoke a bad brand reputation, and ultimately loose paying customers.

There are quite a number of ways they could change their model that would ensure not only brand loyalty, but continued transactions. Adding value is what increases sales. Not subtracting it

If you are talking about just mounts, I think this game is quite generous with the zen shop mounts that are unlocked for all characters in the same account. MMORPG players usually play more than one character, having account-wise unlocked items are very nice. Mounts usually go on sale for less than $25, sometimes, $20 often now. They are cheaper than then $25 ripoff from WoW. Let's say you have 6 characters (active and for fun ones, not the leadership army toons which some people seem set their alarm clock to get them off to produce AD), the cost of the mount is only $3-4. That's far cheaper than most MMORPG.

Perhaps Cryptic think $3 a mount per character is too little profit so they don't extend that feature to lockbox mounts, but as long as the players have the choice to buy them from the Zen Store, the lockbox mounts are not a problem so as Sgt. Knox limited edition companions are not.

I agree, I think the account wide mounts from the cash shop are a good value. I also think that the account wide companions from the promotional packs are a good value. I think that is how things should be, and that is commensurate with other titles.

But, the deliberately small inventory space, coupled with changes to bags right before the launch of a new bag in the cash store is pretty disingenuous. Especially for those of us who have already purchased them.

I also think companions are overpriced, for being single character only items. Even if they simply added an account wide option at a slightly higher price, that would be better than what they have now.

But lets not over look the fact that they designed the companion play with built-in obsolescence. In no other game, that has an NPC companion function, have I ever seen the need to 'buy' your NPC companion's progression with real money.

There are already numerous threads covering how dysfunctional a mechanism that is.

Cosmetic changes to equipment, which is popular in just about ever title I play, are also over priced. I won't even go into the current RP scheme and the prices associated with that.

On top of all that, they have culled the player's ability to generate their own revenue in-game, thereby building greater dependency on selling items purchased from the cash shop

Yes, the game has got to make money, but it needs to be a straight-up process, where you are receiving a good value, for a known product. Not back-end hidden cost mechanics.

There are many, many games that already do this, and have a cash store which is much more viable and player-friendly than this one.

I'm still here watching the forums because this is a D&D product, and because problems aside, Cryptic can build a mechanically fun game.

But their current pricing strategies, couple with the low-content / low-value design philosophy for DLC content is just waaaay off the mark from where it should be
