I'm playing a gf and during Lostmauth's battle his beam attack, targeted at another player, one-shotted me through my shield, without using kv. I was just standing next to his head! WTH!!!

Thats part of the tactic. U can intercept the beam if u stand between player and his head (well, his eyes, actually). Im not sure what ur gear is, but I dont think the laser can 1 shot a shielded tank GF with semi-decent gear, no matter what ppl say about current difficulty, so I guess u stood in place where the beam actually hit u from behind. Its kinda probable if u dont know what was happening.

ED: To be more precise - if the player wanted to dodge/stand behind dragon to avoid beam the tactic is - u move back from it far enough not to get hit. If player wants you to intercept the beam its him who positions himself behind you and you move back slightly, just to be sure it hits your shield, since when u stay directly under head things may work weird. Ask for astral shield/use any other protections if needed, often the beam is not the only thing which can currently damage you

I'm pvp spec and based on dps and he still can't 1 shot me through guard. I would reccomend getting higher hp.

Are you a SM ? I use steel defence on the times my hp isn't full so the beam hits 0 dmg and it works well or after it hits you, just use fighters recovery to quicky gain hp back.

And as wentris said, it's a tactic so you can keep your team alive.

Shield is slow and bugged though, I usually keep mine up about 95% of the time and only lower it when I use a dps encounter or need to rev a team mate. Just keep using shield slam over and over but making sure you keep aggro then your guard is up a lot so his heavy hits won't 1 shot you.

A few times all the party died right away and me and my gf friend had to fight the dragon with just 2 people. Both usign KV and anvil and it worked great being able to keep each other alive.

Thats more than enough hp, probably another stupid guard bug man. Maybe it went right through block or something because I have noticed that happening sometimes in both pve and pvp.

We will just have to wait untill they fix our guard :/ although it hasn't been fixed in 2 mods....

It's likely that the beam flanked you instead of hitting your shield. People have to be very careful about that in this dungeon. So if you have people who don't really care about you, step back during the laser beam thing, stop attacking the dragon, and raise your shield.

I've had this issue many times with my cleric in ToS. While the laser beam takes ages to be fired, and gives you plenty of time to just walk out of the fighting area, people panic and start dodging like crazy, and don't really care about the rest of the team.

Ive run a few elols and and there are GFS i literally have to babysit the entire time, with ashield, foresight, hg ect all maxed rank with massive amount of mitigation and all of my heals and they STILL seem to go down over and over.. then there are GFS that barely need my help and I can slot a Debuffer instead.

Whats the difference? I do not know, I have a GF, currently sitting at a campfire at 61.. I dont remember enough about the class, or how its played anymore. But as a healer, I appreciate the good ones.

BTW at lostmouth is a FANTASTIC place to play with gaes if you can get away with it, you can as a DC interrupt the laser beams with it, the whole issue though.. is if you can afford to slot it, half the time you cant, as the teams go down quickly without constant healing.

Well just came back from a successful elol, I scanned the combat log and look what I found

[5:31] [Combat (Self)] Lostmauth deals 85406 (345298) Fire Damage to you with Immolate Foe.

That's totally crazy dmg right there!

Thats not shielded laser, looks like ur DR + buffs caped on 80% DR totaly, shielded it should deal around 19k. IF its shielded one, it means ur DR is 0, and u had no buffs on.

That's the fire breathe. As the tutorial with Wilfried says, don't stand in red because it means enemies are going to use a powerful attack in this area. :)

I'm sorry but the CD on this attack isn't 60s so you're either making up your numbers here or you've mixed several reports, changed times and did gods know what to die to the laser beam attack, while none of the tanks i've played with died to the said attack.

It's either that or you had a couple of idiots increasing the damage of that boss by what, 5 or 10 times, using feytouched and other random exploits.

Dont lisen to idiots they are elit forum warriors they dont want (casual player's) to play NW .
They want your blood saying all time(you are a bad player) even if you have proof evidence "combat log" they will only say learn to play.
    Why ?
Becuz they exploiting with HR's and DC's CW's and say this game is not for you cuz y cant play with your GF/GWF/ProtPalladin.
Any way go and try T2 some bosses can hit 1-4 mill no guard or dr% or LARGE HP pool will save y :).
