you need to use min settings, like the lowest possible
Its not a settings issue. I've played there all the way to the last boss without lag and I've gone and the lag is so bad at the start that it's unplayable. Same with last boss in esot. (That one is always unplayable. )

That lag during the boss fights has nothing to do with MC or SOT specifically, but with every single boss fight in dungeons/skirmishes.
As for the exact cause, I don't want to speculate, but I believe there are some fellow players who could answer your question.
it's not lag it's fps. in the open areas of malabog for some reason you drop to 5-10 fps. min setting give you enough fps to actually play the game. IF you say that you have run malabog in the past and you didn't have this issue then it's not a malabog problem
There is lag sometimes in MC and VT at final bosses (as in rubberbanding) when adds spawn or shortly after, especially if there's a lot of adds. It lasts for a few minutes and then it's playable again, sometimes. Both issues could be related.
It's not just MC that is having a lag issue. MC has always had an issue because of the rain. Once upon a time, min settings would save you. Presently, in T1 dungeons and Skirmishes I've been bouncing around like a pinball. My T2 runs have been smooth in this regard to this point.
Some moments are better than others, and some just become unplayable (I had that issue last night with eSOT and Master of the Hunt) neither of which had given me issues previous to this mod. As other posters have noted, there is something else behind all the rubberbanding, although I can't say what it is.
Just remember guys, there's a new team on the job now. Give them a chance to prioritize and deal with the plethora of issues that this game has at the moment.
That kind of lag happen kinda randomly, not necessarily because of the adds spawning, if you are just sitting at campfire before valindra you are going to lag anyway. i've been running with some members of a guild last few days and they believe it's because of tiamat (could be because it will always happen during that time) but are just assumptions

There is no way those two could be related.
Something within that very instance is generating that problem, probably players themselves, unaware of it. I've seen that happen very often in ELOL, and a little bit in VT. MC was fine, but I've done it only once since this module was released, so it's not much of a reference.
Same kind of problem happens during the Heralds in WoD. Some people blame AS rank 4 for that.
Personally, I stay away from those kinds of assumptions.
MC has its own special lag issues. Generally the lag is gone once you enter the inside. Now I am gonna point people to a particular cut scene that lags just as bad as MC. It is the Sharander cut scene where you first unlocked the area. It has all the same graphics as the initial part of MC, however since you saw it so infrequently, most do not realize it does that.
No AS is not the issue nor is any classes skills or abilities...As I have ran MC a few hundred times with every mix of classes, to just duo with people queuing me to help me enter when I was farming seals. I could be the only one in there clearing and the first area would at times bring my PC to its knees.

It's been an issue ever since mod1 was released.
