"Play" greyed out? Disconnected from server?

I was just playing and all of a sudden it said disconnected from the server. I went back to the main menu and the "Play" is greyed out. The screen also says "No shards are available. Please try again later".

    Same here, and there's another thread where people are having the same issue. Servers are down? Was there supposed to be some kind of maintenance? I see nothing about it anywhere...

    It appears they went down briefly again last night around 10:30pm PT. As soon as my group got to the last boss in LotMD, we all get Server Not Responding, followed by unable to connect at all for at least 20 minutes.
