Questions regarding current campaign & getting to Turen.

So today I wrap up "Assist the Lord's Alliance", 3rd stage in entry level campaign.

Looking ahead, I did some research as what to expect.

Lair of Lostmauth and Shores of Turen (Dungeon & Skirmish) require completion of the quest "The Portal to Turen".

Question regarding this part - according to the wiki, you need to get into Icewind Dale to access the Portal.

Is Icewind Dale even accessible in game as of now?

I was under the impression that IWD was a mod of it's own (MOD 3 on PC).

2nd possible issue, that bears mentioning, also according to the wiki...

"The Icewind Dale Campaign is part of Module 3: Curse of Icewind Dale. It is set in Caer-Konig, Icewind Pass and Dwarven Valley.

To start the campaign, a character must have at least a Gear Score of 10,000 and the third boon from either the Sharandar Campaign or Dread Ring Campaign."

Considering that the only thing possible to achieve in game at this point of those pre-requisites is the GS, is it even possible to advance the current campaign to it's completion?

So to summarize:

Is Icewind Dale accessible or have the quest location & pre-requisites been changed?

That's a good question and didn't even think of that because its all accessible on PC. I'd like to unlock everything from the one campaign we do have.

    No and no.

You misunderstood the requirements. Although portal to tuern is located on the icewind dale map, it is not a part if the icewind dale campaign. You will get the quest from one of the harpers after you have completed the dragon section in Whispering Caverns. It is similar to the Spellplague questline where some map locations are only shown to you while the quest is active. After the initial completion of "Portal" it will return each Monday as a weekly and will disappear from the map choice once completed until the following Monday.

Even on PC it was entirely possible to access this quest without ever setting foot in the Icewind Dale campaign.

True you don't need the icewindale campaign but if they don't count dragon boons it's going to take a minimum of 3 weeks upon release to get a 3rd boon which btw dread ring is way faster then sharandar...

Basically they need to give us the previous content asap since that's where 2 high tier dungeons and all our true 60 skirmishes come from so can do the dailies... Releasing as dragon first is honestly *bs since it gimps the content we can actually do

You arent ready for Shores and LoL yet, let alone eLol and eShores. People get wiped out rocking 16k+ gs in there. Hell i havent even solo's epic LoL yet on my 23k HR. (got him to <10%)

You do not need a 3rd boon. As I said, portal to tuern is not part of the icewind dale campaign.

As to your other point, Xbox release , since it includes the TOD campaign, has much more content that the original PC release. So, really the content is not "gimped", it is expanded.

However, they could/should have allowed the two level 56-60 skirmishes to count for Rhix's dailies. Tuern would make 3 and when the other modules release, they could have removed the lower skirmishes at that time.

There are plenty of dungeons, we do not need the others yet. But, I admit, hard to wait when you know what could be out.

Revisiting this as I'm sure there are people who should have been able to unlock this by now.

Any conformation that this content is accessible?

I did Portal to Tuern, yesterday but was a few sigils short of unlocking the skirmish. So, yes it is accessible.
