Graphics lag, Curious if anyone has tried...

pentnoirpentnoir Member Posts: 89 Arc User
The graphics lag can be pretty intense at times and just on a spur of the moment I deleted every game and app, which took me from 90% used to 3%. Now the graphics lag seems better. It is still There but doesn't seem to stall as long. I also have kinect turned off.

Think I'm just seeing more into it than is there because unless there is a single huge file that gets cut up into multiple locations, larger than memory, and xbox doesn't defrag very well, I'm not sure why cleaning my hdd would do anything.

Has anyone else tried similar things to improve performance? Maybe I'll try a format at some point.

A few people have mentioned that clearing their cache has improved performance, so maybe what you did also resulted in the cache being cleared.

Didn't make any difference to me when I tried it though.

Probably, I'll make a habit of regularly clearing the cache. Will pretty much try anything to cut down on graphics lag.

If Xbox gave us better hdd hook ups and possibly a ssd instead, then it would make everything better. I'm debating buying a ssd external.

There's a massive memory leak in parts of the game.

And there are things that have been broken for since beta release on the PC such as the auction house search and the disconnects when matchmaking.
Not to mention the terrible imbalance in pvp.

    That was 2-3 years ago

I have started making it a habit of occasionally looking at the ground in game during big fights. This stops all lag as your screen doesnt have all the bursts of lights etc. Unfortunately I cant do it too often as I am a Cleric but this may help some of the easier classes that just mash buttons.

We need an option to turn off or turn down the graphics. I dont NEED to see everyone's abilities going off. Also i would LOVE the option to turn off enemy health bars. We already have an option to always show player health bars which I use to help locate people who are getting hit. But in a sea of enemy health bars it can be quite difficult. Turning them all would help.

An external SSD would make very little difference. There were some tests done on the PS3 were they replaced the internal drive with an SSD, and there was little improvement overall.
