So I reach LVL 70 with my DC, I'm all excited to play the new dungeons. Im just flabbercasted as to what I see, I've never been more useless in a dungeon than this Mod 6.
You can't heal people because the monster hit so hard there is nothing to heal, you can't play damage because you are to squashy, so what do you do.
Have to wait and see when everybody get more HP maybe that will help, otherwise can't see why I must play with my DC, and my DC is my main since Mod 1. Wow just bloodly wow. I just hope the DC is not useless this mod
Yeah, the initial shock hit from mobs is a bit strong atm I think. What I would do, if the damage they give out now is intended, is reduce their upfront base damage a bit, and then give them a passive stacking buff that increases their damage and stats to where they are now once combat is triggered. Call it "momentum" or something. This gives players a small window to utilize their debuffs and reduce them to an effective level.
i.e.-reduce base damage by 50%, once combat is triggered every 2 seconds give a stacking +13% damage buff (up to 4 stacks) to them that only goes away with a complete combat reset with health reset and everything, not just cc/daze other out of combat tricks.
Love yourself, and focus on the rest of the madness of life later.

This is a bit of deju vu for me, when I started playing the lfg were looking for clerics to buff/debuff. Healing was not needed then, now healing is not needed but for slightly different reasons, its not needed because of all those one shot kills. So I suppose its back to being a buffbot, but on the plus side there are many classes that were also made useless in mod 6 with all these on shotters.

They aren't useless.
CWs just can't jump in, pull hoards of mobs, hit CoI and Oppressive Force and call it a day. God forbid you actually let the tank do his job.
Empowered astral shield is love , empowered astral shield is life !

Get Eternal gear....grind 1600 dungeons and Kessels etc until you have enough Seals to buy Alliance Gear. You will eventually get into parties that will complete Elol and VT etc, and you get some Alliance gear right there. After that, start working on the 2000 dungeons. We started by just doing TOS 2/3 yesterday.
It IS possible.....but you better have alot of HP and a decent party. Dont give up.
I play CW and TR. MY job is to control and deal damage. NOT to tank.
You play a healer. YOUR job is to keep my health at 50% or more. NOT to make me able to tank.
If I'm stupid enough to let enemies One-Hit me or to run into groups of 3 or more enemies (and I'm not a tank), then it's ME who is useless, not you.
Many players still have not adapted to Lifesteal being unreliable and to not being as aggressive as before. But they will learn. First, they probably will cry, say that the game is unbeatable and that you are not doing your job, because many don't have the self-reflective abilities to accept their mistakes. But then they will realize, that adapting is the only way to win, and they stay alive long enough for you to heal them.
I had the honor to do some HEs with a tank and a healer. I could concentrate completely on doing damage and kill the usual single Ad that got attracted to me. And in the moments where I got hit by an AoE or had to take some hits of an extraodinarily hard critter, there was a healer to get me to full health. It was great. And succesful.
You are 100%, completely and utterly, wrong in this assessment.
Just because your first few times at Level 70 content weren't Mod 5 easy as pie style, doesn't mean the DC class has no place. In fact the exact opposite is true; DCs are more useful now then ever before.
Take some time, face the challenge head on, learn rotations that fit the new content, and kick some butt!
Or rage quit. The choice is yours.

As a DC i can say i pretty much laugh at the DPS that think they can face check a mob even going so far as flat ignoring them, the tank is your life, Remember that.
if you coordinate with the tank and lead with a astral shield and the tank uses CDs for the pull and there is a small chance that they die.
Also, try running full heal encounters, seriously, Healing word, Bastion of Health , Astral Shield, Don,t bother with astral Seal, its useless, I promise, it often accounted for > 2% of my overall healing, i find that the Sacred fire is more often than note, more useful as in mod 6 Shielding is becoming well over a quarter of my overall effectiveness.
DC start spinting
tank say: stop, let me pull
DC say: I'm tank, no prob
DC get 1 shotted
after that we let the tank aggro first and covered him with cc while the dc was healing... got to last boss of eLoL without a problem... (some down here and there due to people missing a dodge but fox cunning help a lot with mistakes...) wiped a few time to adapt to his damage and cleared it...
people just need to learn that they actualy have a ROLE and are not one man army that can facetank while oneshotting everything in front of them... even tank actualy need to play well in order not to die and can't simply go in there cast aoe taunt and hold mobs but have to move in accordance with the mob to avid getting flanked and move out of aoe rather than just blocking them when they can...

healier is needed to heal and buff a extra defensive(astral shield) and debuff mobs to not hit hard.faithfull and virtuous are pretty good also i saw and righteous to use healing abilities and heal good( not so perfect like the others) and at the same time he provide to pt 10% of his power with the weapon of light feat, give to pt a boost 10% when he activates a damage overtime effect with the bear of sins feat
and condemning gaze which activates the effect condemnet when reach 5 stacks (each spam add a stack) using a damaging encounter( divine glow which heal buffs debuffs and do damage)the foes get 15 % more damage.

I actually have a problem with this piece of advice... Not saying it's bad advice, mind. Because it's not.
No, my problem with it, is the simple idea of needing to farm gear to be able to go forth and farm even more gear... I'll be completely honest. None of my characters even have Black Ice armor. Just the idea of having to farm gear to get better gear blew my mind. It seemed almost counter productive...

People just got used to too easy dungeons. Way back in mod 1-2 T2 was hard, Valindta was hard, and the winner of the wwek was the party, that could post a youtube video on succesful dwarf king's crypt. Not 5-6 runs, just one succesful in 30 mins.
Nothing to heal? get better equipment, mobs will oneshot you with 40k hp. Also use damage resist buufs, damage debuffs on enemies, different rotation etc.
My story is truly a grand tale! Of course, any story about me is going to be grand simply by virtue of the main character.

+1 to this But there are still people who keep ignoring that lovely yellow circle on the ground.
