Drop rate seems particularly low in drowned shore for vigil quests. In particular "stolen memories" where you need to collect mementos off cultists (5). I say this because I completed the quest gutting fish (kill 100 enemy in drowned shore) before getting the five mementos while only killing the cultists.....twice. Yes I was only killing the mobs that drop the quest items, yes it was located in the designated quest killing area (blue circle)
Oh, it's not just that one. You'll experience it again and again with many other quests. I think all of the quests that say, "collect X from enemies in Y area" have that abysmal RNG drop rate. I assume it's WAI.

It's actually all the quests having drops from the culf of something. All of the humanoid npcs have quest items drop rates completely out of whack. I remember having to grind 200+ npcs to complete one quests with gems of control (iirc) in the first area of the air element zone. I'm a mmo player so i sucked it up and grinded my mobs to complete my task and level up faster but still, that was a major pain in the ***.
Well glad its not just me. I dont mind the increase in difficulty ive seen so far but **** these vigilance quests remind me of grinding in Eq vanilla. But in Eq I didnt lag this bad
yeah it is abysmally grindy. I wish I could reach 70 without having to do the same type of quests in the same area 50-60 times. just like double their XP and half it to 8 instead of 16 and it'd be better imo.
Yeah, Stolen Memories was particularly abysmal. However, I didn't notice any other drop quests as bad as that one. For a non-drop quest, Mithral Nuggets probably would have taken me a couple of hours, they were very sparsely placed.
