Combat is fast paced in this game. That's great. What isn't great is Select+X is the command to get the Need/Greed/Pass menu OFF of your screen when a teammate decides to pick up loot mid-combat. It also happens to be the SAME EXACT command as "Leave Party". In Skirmishes/Dungeons, leaving party BOOTS you out of the instance, and you're promptly replaced.
I can't tell you how many times I've been 30+ minutes in, I'm mid-fight and menu's are popping up rapid fire, or someone "Wins" loot and I'm thinking it's another "Need/Greed/Pass" menu about to block my vision. I instinctively key in Select+X in one press... and BAM! I'm booted.
Beyond frustrating. Seriously. Please remap it to Right Thumbstick Press or something else that has no consequence if you accidentally press X. This is seriously the worst case scenario key mapping.
I've been kicked three times by this. Incredibly frustrating when you've waiting over an hour to que for a dungeon, only to be kicked 5 minutes in because there's a giant box blocking your screen, and you're trying to see the fight in front of you so you're not killed... I've grown very weary of pressing back+X. I will only press back, then pause for a good few seconds, make absolutely sure I'm not about to leave the party, and then only choose either the A or Y option...
I agree. It happens to mee and my friends too. We ask ourself not to bring loot when we are in group, but it is not right. When the "loot form" appears it happens to leave the group, it happens to die beacuse we need to do else in that specific moment, it could happen everything.
I hope they will find a way to let us continue to fight, without being interrupted by that terrible "loot form".
Sorry for my english, I try to do the best...
Yep it's now getting to the point where I explain at start of Dungeon that if you continue to troll green drops I will leave party and find another.... as a cleric I have no problem with queues.
One player said he/she needed the drops for money !!... tried to explain that you can do that on normal mobs and make a lot more , but felt like I was banging my head against a brick wall so I left.
" I reject your reality and substitute it with my own "
They have made it so that the Party Leader can change the pick ups to 'Round Robin', so whoever picks stuff up will go to each person without that screen coming up.
However, the leader needs to opt-in and do this each time.
Also, you can end up with greens or stuff you didn't want because of it. It would be good if players could 'opt out' of green gear personally as well. Better yet, specify things like: Epic and Blue = all greed, or something.
Lol, seeing that this is an issue with you guyes, all i can say is dont greed. That's it... more than likely that piece of equipment can go to someone who actually NEEDS it in the squad, so just let em have it. As for any other instance, just pass on it til the end of the fight. If someone greeds it, oh well. OR just try to make it a habit to not press select+x... you might be thinking, "he probably never had this happen to him," well to that i say i actually had the same issue for the first couple of days of playtime, but gradually i just started to pass on gear that doesnt belong to me, and i only take gear if no one wants it (at the end of a fight) and if i NEED it...
But those are just my 2 cents. Hope its worth something :P
Their controls leave ALOT to be desired. you can't get rid of the screen for roles, you can't get rid of the screen for scores (it doesn't have a timer) you can't simply pickup loot which is essential in the environment for console without pressing A and must instead press LB + A in order to jump! Then they have some weird placement for your second Daily skill on the LB + Y button.
So I have to ask who tested this thing and thought this was a good idea?
Seeing as I haven't noticed a difference in the results, could someone tell me what the difference between need and greed is?
I know I can use greed on anything - even if it isn't suited to my class, but other than that....
So the game first checks if anyone hit Need. If yes, then those people roll and winner gets item. (if only 1 person, then they get item)
If no one hit Need, then Greed gets rolled. Top roll gets item.
If no one hit Greed and everyone Passes, then item gets left on the ground and anyone can walk up and take it.
You can only Need if your class can use the item, some items are available for all classes.
This system is kind of cool because in past games you could Need on anything, "For my other class", people get real angry over that. Glad this game doesn't allow Needing for off class items.
they dont need to re map it stupid newbs just need to quit picking HAMSTER up in middle of fight i dont understand what they are thinking its not going anywhere it will still be there when the fight is over. thats why when im playing with randoms im always watching them and if i notice someone picking up in middle of fight i wait till fight is over and boot them and if u really want to HAMSTER them off keep them in party until final boss fight then boot them.

If its my class, I'll need, if its anything else I'll pass.
Back - X must never be pushed!
