Playing last night, I grouped with a few other players for a dungeon. I was able to hear only ONE of the guys in the group over voice chat, but nobody else, and nobody could hear me. I was told my mic indicator was lighting up for the other players, but my voice wasn't being heard. We completed the dungeon just fine, and it didn't really affect gameplay any, but fixing this issue would be a huge boost to the socialization aspect that has been a foundation of the D&D brand ...
I was having the same issue, ponied up, bought a headset (my soon to be wife loves giving me HAMSTER for it) and have had a much smoother chat experience.
There's some chop here and there, but it works much better than the headset/mic that came w/ my XBox
I have a TB EarForce Seven ... $150 pseudo-surround. Great headset in every other game I play. No one in-group could figure out why comms were sketchy between us all.
