GWF question on builds/Powers/Feats

Hey all, first let me say that I am entirely new to this game, but so far, its amazing, though I dont really find the currency in the game balanced or remotely reasonable, that isnt why I am here, the gameplay is awesome, the graphics and classes are also very good, especially on a "F2P" platform, ANWAY..
I rolled a GWF, and the talents(powers) and upgrading them, are confusing me, since I am entirely new and this game doesnt seem too new user friendly, I figured I would ask the community of experienced players what to do.
1. Can I mess up and put a point into upgrading a power that I may need later on (putting a point to upgrade something I wont use and needing that point later) I only ask because I have no way to afford Zen and I dont really have the time to farm astral diamonds and I dont want to ruin my spec and be SoL.
2.WHAT is a good build? I see myself taking alot more damage than I am putting out, I have held off on doing anymore upgrading to my powers till I find out 1.
3. I feel as though I have messed up my "Feat" points, and I am unfamiliar with AC(what that does for me) and I am just wondering what gear stats I am looking for, for my character as far as PVE goes, I plan on making a scourge lock for PVP so im not too worried about that on this character..
right now I am 25, just bought my horse, flat broke and I really dont want to cause anymore damage to my spec than I probably already have, so if someone could just break this down for me I would really appreciate it, I do really enjoy this game and since it came out on the xbox most of my friends have been playing also, so I just want to learn what I can and do my best to master my class and continue to enjoy the game, without worrying about messing up something I will ultimately have to literally pay for in the end.

I don't play GWF but I could probably answer a few questions.
thanks man will do, this is just a vast game with so many different speccing options and it just seems a bit overwhelming as a new player, I will add you asap! thanks!
