Good Morning fellow adventurers! So I hit level 30 last night and went to a new zone "Neverdeath" and was given a quest to kill this Heroic Dragon. Needless to say I ended up being nothing more than a play thing for this beast.

How many people does it take and in your opinion how do you think we should go about organizing a killing party(s) to bring this beast down?

Thank you for your time

Does Zone chat work on XBox? Are there instances on the XBox? That's how we coordinate on the PC side, i.e. type 'instance 6 up in 2 min' and everyone switches over.

Long time PC users can correct me if I am wrong, but I am fairly certain heroic encounters were added as part of the Tyranny of Dragons module.

Tyranny of Dragons was the 5th PC module.

Nearly everyone playing ToD was geared and 60 when it launched (hence the 6-10 recommendation).

ToD is the launch module for XB1.

Not all day 1 content is intended for characters on day 1 (IE Heroic Dragon Encounters).

Give it a week when you're better geared, higher level, and your peers are the same & the Charthaxis (and other dragons) encounter will be much more enjoyable and far less daunting.

Actually, Heroic Encounters started with Icewind Dale. Update, Charthraxis will be lvl 70 in Elemental Evil and requires 10-15 opponents.

we downed it today, 8 + players with companions all level 27-35. It was a long battle, but we won. Way it started, just like on the PC. A player in Zone chat reports timer and instance number, all join that instance for the fight. console players just need to monitor and use the chat..and fyi. to get your reward..back button twice then X on HERORIC EVENT

Hello... I did it 3 times, last one 2 minutes ago and we are here waiting for him to pop up again. My question is about the loot : except the reward for the daily quest, he never give noting , but a player that play pc version, say he must do at least one rune. So how is it possible? 3 times dragon killed, and never get a loot. Is it a bug or what else?

like nothing? you should get at least dragon hoard coins. But in general thats just how RNG in MMO's work and Neverwinter too. You can farm the dragon like 1000 times and get nothing valuable other kill the dragon once and earn big.

    What you

can get from the dragon in Neverdeath are the dragon bone weapons which should be particulary valuable because they scale with your level and let you slot a purple weapon enchantment.

I'm not sure if I'm going to try tiamat on the X1. On pc they screw it up and that's with players using chat for groups. With the X1 community hardly chatting or even paying attention to the chat, all the commands will be ignored..it's going to be LEROY JENKINS straight to Tiamat. For those new to the game. Your group disbands upon entering the instance. If your lucky 1 person from your group arrives with you.

Did you communicate with said "morons" to try and coordinate and effective attack? Or were you relying on your powers of telepathy, which seem to me to be non-existant? Console players are not typically used to MMO style "outdoor raid bosses."

Even if you are not in a group you still get the credit for the kill, you will however not receive any loot.
So if you want loot make sure you are in the group, if you just want the quest, fire away

No you DO NOT need to be in a group, i killed him nearly a dozen times when not in a group and got loot every time, including my dragon bone halberd. To collect the loot you need to press the view button a few times to highlight the heroic encounter thing in the top right and press a to claim reward.

I tried it with a group who decided to just rush in and wipe right away, later got a decent group of around 8-9 people I think and downed it.

My guild The Astral Order raids 4 of the dragons a few times a week. All members are between 45-60. If anyone is interested in a guild that communicates and plays together add me DeadManFloating on xb1. Must be lvl 40+ we help with questing/leveling.

I think part of the problem on XB1 is that a lot of the people on it haven't really played (certainly this style of) MMOs before. They're used to taking on dragons in single player games like Skyrim and Dragon Age, so they see a dragon in a game like this, they all go a bit 'Jenkins'.

Out of the last 6 attempts at Charthraxis, I've ended up being wiped in 4 where there were 10+ players, because after running around reviving people, kiting the cultists away from the action and generally doing all the good teamplay stuff, I'd end up dying while calling out for assistance and getting completely ignored.

In the two successful attempts we've had only 8 - 10 players, mostly sub level 40 but played like a team and absolutely OWNED his scaley butt. Oh, and one of the Control Wizards got this little present http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Dragon_Bone_Talisman , which was nice...

There's a lesson to be had here....

go to quest, change instance but just hover on it. To the right it will say your instance number.

Zone chat in Neverdeath Graveyard is currently bugged. In several difference instances, both my friend, a guildmate and myself sent messages in Zone chat and the only messages I ever saw were my own, but never any that my friends sent.

Really? I didn't know that. Always wondered what the "Heroic Encounter Complete" thing on my screen was. I've joined in a few groups with my lowbie level Cleric a few times to kill him. Always assumed no loot was because I wasn't in group.

I don't suppose you know if it stacks? I must have 3 or 4 kills stacked up and haven't collected loot ever.

it stacks. You can have an infinite number of "Heroic Encounter Success" ready to open all in a row if you want. use the double square button to go over to it, press A for Claim, and start opening!!

regarding the posts for loot / no loot for the dragons, there is always "loot" in the form of a couple enchants and dragon coins... FROM CLAIMING THESE SUCCESSES. but that's it. no loot at the body.
