3 days of playing and over 100+ gold sellers on ignore list. I found solution but...

The chat in main Town is full gold sellers spam. What's worse they dont stick to [Trade] section but spam everywhere. I report them + ignore over 30+ day yet they keep popping like no tomorrow.

I was thinking about some solution which could reduce this problem and imo there's at least one. Im quite sure that you wont hire more people just to deal with those spammers online 24/7, but can you please add an option which allow players to automatically hide msg from players below lvl "X"*?

X* = lvl typed by players in the options, so we can adjust how many msg's we want to automatically hide.

This obviously have a drawback, but it's also pretty strong tool against spammers as most of them use low lvl characters for doing it.

(if any GM have a doubt, i can send you a link to youtube movie with my ignore list of those gold sellers, so you can realize how many of those there's is)

make it semi hard cap, 20 lvl or 30 lvl, unless if they are real friends and that we have to find few ways for open chat menu.

or make some chats very restrictive if they say "selling"/trading in any form of part of sentences, all other chats are closed until passing 30th, 50 or 60 levels as soon it open to those higher levels can chat for trade openly.

but still that was novel idea, but the rule is, never go to 3rd party sites.

and not just devs, but the management team and lawyers should create for players to sign agreements not to violate EULA and CoC policy, because they are the owners, and 3rd party doesnt own and not allow to sell. that would result of banning local IP or locating criminal operations to be shut down to prevent "rerolling" new throw away accounts.
if they delete old account and make a newer name and they would wait a week to be activate, making the tracking easier to find criminal activities.
if it was overseas, then IP would be isolated if it is need to prevent and stop bothering real players.

Silverkelt,. it's mainly in Protector's Enclave.

Also, one thing I'd like to see is that if someone gets flagged as spammer enough times, they become PKable.
Because hey, you can't send messages as a corpse, plus, how satisfying would it be.

Could be seriously abused by trolls randomly flagging people for spam and then killing them for fun in PE. But it would be really satisfying. :)

True I would say though that if 50+ people from different accounts tagged them as spam it would be good enough. Also they wouldn't even have to let the players kill them. You have guards in every area of the game why not put them to work. :D
stealth is survival skills (and not tanking skills, that is really different)
    stealth is damage
    stealth is mobility
    stealth is everything
    everything is stealth
Stealth make TR OP, but lack of stealth make TR useless.

Those spammers are not just annoying but also ruin economy and steal money from PW. I have count like 3 or more different sites who contend who will spam more. They even send you pms or mails sometimes (sic!)

Just take a look at this simple example:

If legit player wants to buy ZEN for AD they're limited to 500 per 1? Now if somebody wants to trade his ZEN and get AD instead they will get nearly triple as much from these 3rd party sites as they offer 1kk AD for ~6-7 euro (accodring to their annoying spams)

for 9,99 euro you get 1100 ZEN which 550k AD, for the same price they can get around ~1.7kk AD.

This is extremely bad for in game economy, PW and all legit players. A simple test can show you how serious issue it is. Make new account which have empty ignore list and sit in the main Town at peak hours from friday to monday and you will see yourself that no matter how fast you report + ignore the gold sellers, new ones come in no time.

Neverwinter suffer from Plague of Magic and Plague of gold sellers >.> no quests to defeat those, yet.

I'd quite like to be able to write my own chat filters. I don't quite know why Cryptic are not filtering on the most common variants of the spammers' websites but I know I could. The key is to filter on the content of the message rather than the account. Spammers can take steps to disguise the website url but ultimately they need it to be easy enough for us to figure out. You could even make filtering them a community effort. We'd collectively be pretty good at that, I reckon.

Actually, the only way gold sellers can continue to exist is because *most* of them *mostly* do deliver what they promise. I'm not saying they are all entirely honest or that it's morally right but they would die out if they were all scammers because their customer base would dwindle away and chat would be flooded with people warning about their websites. You don't often see anyone in chat complaining about being scammed by them.

Sadly, gold sellers exist because some players buy their wares. If players stopped buying, the sellers would soon go away.

I've thought about this often. If someone were stealing from me (PW), I'd act against it immediately. Oddly enough, there's been little if anything done to stop the major AD/GS selling sites.

    Makes you wonder.

I think we'd probably get bored before they did!

But, yes, it's been the same couple of website URLs forever so either Cryptic/PWE are not losing enough sales to bother or the technicalities of taking action are just too slow/expensive, especially if it involves other countries. Gold sellers and buyers are definitely breaking the ToS and risking account suspension/deletion but are they actually breaking any laws?

With the M6 the gold seller spam is getting worse than ever, though i had hopes because it was a lot less spam in the first day after release :/

Please let us block the msg from players who are below our lvl (as optional feature so those who dont want, dont have to use it)

This has to be the most fun sounding idea I've heard in a while. Let's actually kill the gold spammers. That sounds awesome. Won't accomplish anything, but it'd be fun.

I think they are the same gold spammers. It is just noticeably most of the LFG messages are gone since daily quests, dungeons and skirmishes are either totally eliminated or pushed back to level 70. What's left in the Pandora's Box are gold sellers.

what irks me is that there is no easy way to clear my ignore list (I try to clear it out every couple of weeks or so). If someone has been permabanned for spamming, maybe they could be removed from everyone's ignore lists via a monthly process or something?

They can find the AD buyers easy, but they don't do it, they only have to make a link for huge AD receivers, it's not that hard, it's not hard to ban the www sites or 3w or whatever they make of it, I was in another game and they had that issue too and they could ban all of the gold spammers too so why can't Neverwinter do that

Soo you wanna fk over any new player that is trying to ask questions?

If Gold sellers can't write from low lvl they will just keep hacking accounts until they find high level toons, they don't make accounts

There are filter algorithms that work. I haven't seen a single spam in WoW in years.

They could fix it if they cared.

Add "Report as gold seller" option. There is absolutely no risk of "trolling" or abuse. Obviously they would investigate such claims and any abuse or false reports would be sanctioned against the reporter. It's all trackable. They're just not proactive.

Even better, allow players to not see messages containing "*chooseword or words*" from designated channel(s).
