Question regarding empowered Astral Shield on PvP

It will be toned down for PvP?? Im asking this, because Bypass a -6300 [9% of Max HP ... which could be 70k HP at Elemental PvP set with out any enchats or artifacts] damage per hit non mitigable shield with our actual curve stats will be ... um... lets say that it will be hard...

    No need.

    I still got hit for 65k in an empowered Astral Shield by the Paladin Daily that looks like Brood of Hadar. My DC had 50k Max HP, but still.
    Astral Shield won't safe DCs in next mod like it does now.

    Ehm, grabmoore, that is a daily, so astral shield will not do much. Astral shield is effective against dots and at-wills, but not so much against high burst damage. Did you fight this Paladin in IWD without gear that gives HP? If so, then you cannot really call that testing or giving a proper example. If you go as a lvl 60 char into IWD with 50k hp, then ofc the damage will seem high, as everyone get boosted to lvl 70.

    Either way, Astral Shield will probably still be very decent in mod 6. Get a DC above 100k HP and with 12% on AS, wow.

    EDIT: If you are trying to save the DCs so they still can be a bit OP for some more time, meh. Even as I am playing a PvP DC I have started to get sick at Sun Burst and AS (but not as much as cheap non-skill TR one shots, but that is not relevant here).

    *cough *cough I think i beg to differ on that ..

    Fully defence Dc about 130k hp 12% = 15600 absorb + defence Emp astral in pvp is and will stay broken ...

    question, are u rogue? cause if u are, and u are asking to nerf AS then is ironic, very. not all damage is shielded when the encounter is on, and dailies like Shocking execution, which is broken, bypasses it easily. Having on mind the nerfs on stats, defense and deflect stats are reduced, letting clerics and guardians more vulnerable against broken classes such as rogues. So we need as much defense as possible, otherwise clerics would die easily. If u worry too much about Astral shield, communicate with a wizard to repel the cleric back, problem solved.

    You mentioned 12 % of Actual HP... but why 12%? The new 4th power point to astral shield goes to the normal and to the divine astral shield... the strength of the empowered come from the pip of divine you used.. and we still have 3.. therefore even in mode 6 we will have only 9% of max HP to astral shield..

    But i can be absolutely wrong.. so please correct me..
