single ability score belts not getting an upgrade option??

So I waited and bought an owlbear (INT) belt a month or so after they became available. paid 4mil. Then the next week they made them drop like candy and they were worth 50k... I took that one on the chin.

Now I find that they are not upgrading these to greater option so I get shafted again with no 20% bonus rp multiplier...

Very unhappy. Why would cryptic allow all the players who got screwed on that deal get screwed again.?!?!

They were dropping from the Dragon heralds up until a couple of weeks ago but you would get the bonus no matter what belt you put it into wouldn't you? .

Oh any FYI I got several greater belts from opening up around 50 - 60 Herald rewards on preview so they seem to have a good drop rate in module 6 too before you shell out a ridiculous amount of AD again for a greater one.

OP, I don't think you are the only unhappy one about the Greater belts... and save your unhappiness for the Greatest artifact belts if they come in Mod 7. ;)

oh ok seems my worries were unfounded. didnt realise there were greater single ability score belts. they arent on preview gateway collections...

i imagine u only get the bonus 20% if your putting a normal belt of the same type into a greater?

Well, the AD thing... ...that's not Cryptic who screwed you there, but the Auction House market dynamics.

AH dynamics are made up of two things... supply and demand. Cryptic can control 1 of those and easily influence the other. Yup they are innocent bystanders.

Point is: They're not even the ones profiting, so yes, they are.

As opposed to the view some people take here ("SHINEY, want! MUST HAVE. NOOOOWWWW!!!!") the devs try to make the game in a fashion that "Shiney, want it!" can lead to "Have it" by "...so I work for it."

They even bent their original model - purely RNG controlled, run the dungen until you finally win it on that loot roll - to the almost purely "Hourly wage" model: "1 Linu's per Hour, 15 Linu's for the off-hand. Got your 15? Here you go. Have fun... ...next, please!".

I'm absolutely uncertain that this was the right decision - to me Tia's feel even more grindy than all the dungeons. Maybe having different dungeons for the different items might've made it feel less like assembly-line-work. But well, different people like different things...

And yeah, I ran Spellplagued some 50 times before I had my last armor piece for my CW...

Keep in mind if it's anything like the necks, and I think it is...the difference between a "regular" and a greater is about 2%. Not at all worth investing the RP in to upgrade to.

Read the forums. It can spare you some bad decisions. They said, that they will adjust the drop rate of the belts. One of my friend got one, sold it bc of this information and made 4 million ADs, buying the belt a few weeks later for 400k. The other one used it and is still trying to rationalize his choice, if we discuss this.

There are still some surprise attacks on ppl trying to make some AD by buying/ selling stuff. I got 4 cockatrice at the 'once in a lifetime event' for 1,2 million AD each. They climed up to 2,5 million AD. My personal goal was, to sell them for 3 million each. Winter festival came along and prices dropped to 200k, slowly climbing now.

The only sure thing here is, that exploits get fixed sooner or later. When they annonced the BOA dragon hoard drops, some ppl bought unbound RP for xx million AD, selling them for more than 15x of what they paid now. I heared, that some of them are not around anymore, but I wont comment on that, bc this is a mod decision and not up for debate.

with the new stat curves, where 400 stat points equals 1% increase its not even worth the millions of rp needed to gain less than 1% more

    2% DPS.
In mod 6 we have a new calculation. Check the preview forum thread "Stat changes" (sticky).

    Power: 458 to 846 = 388 power = +0,97% increased damage
    Crit: 298 to 530 = 232 crit = +0,58% increased crit chance
    Rec: 298 to 530 = 232 rec = +1,16% faster cooldowns

You have to calculate the real increase based on your stats to see you personal increase in %.
    Example:
When you have 14k power (not much in mod6) you move from 35% to 35,97% that is an 1,03% increase in DPS.
Crit is a little bit more difficult (but possible) to calculate and the cooldown reduce needs some assumptions/measurements to be valued.

    I think 2% is a good estimation. I would say 3% ;-)
