Trade Chat. Trying again

Im really tired of seeing the trade chat of other games. Is there any work arround for this ? I mean they are in all the costum channels no matter what. Its impossible to turn off or ignore. The only channel this trade channel is not in, is combat log. Which i turned into my normal chat. But if i switch to another chat window then combatlog, i get spammed by a trade channel for another game.

I reported this issue a year ago. But it got totally ignored.

Please fix this or tell me a workarround.

    Just curious as to why you can't log into the game that you joined the unofficial trade channel and leave it?

    The problem is the games share a chat server (which I like because I still talk to friends in the other games on a channel that I own, and another that I don't.) IMO NW should have created a branded channel for trade like TradeNW, but they didn't. So the only thing I can see to fix it is what was posted in your original thread.

    The only way NW can fix it is to rename the one they created. I don't know how hard that would be (doesn't seem very, but I don't know.)

    I have only had NW on this computer. The damage happened before the official Trade channel was introduced to the game. Some of the players had a custom trade channel called "trade". We basically used that one until the official one came. So when the "new" and official NW Trade channel, we have in game now, got introduced the old custom trade channel somehow got transformed into another game channel you cant leave. I dont even know what game it is, but they are selling stuff for gold. When i right click on the players you cant add them to friends, inspect, nothing works really. SO they are clearly from a different game. Also they talk about weird things xD

    But yeah, its getting really annoying, and the players who joined the custom channel before the official are now getting badly punished

    The channel was created in StarTrek Online, I believe.

    Understand that I am only trying to help.. because I don't think you will get this fixed any faster than if you do you it yourself. I know this is a pain, and I totally understand that you should not have to do this, but..

    Start a download of STO when you are done for the night. Next day, log in, create a char if you never had, leave the channel, then uninstall.

    In this game, you can't leave a built in channel, and the error keeps you from ever reaching the old channel with your commands. In STO, there is no official channel by that name (AFAIK) so nothing to stop it from working.

    I know when I create new characters in STO, NW or Champions Online, I automatically see every channel I am joined to in any of the others.

    EDIT! BTW- I do not -KNOW- that this will fix your issue, but I strongly suspect it will, and I would do it if I had the problem you described, myself.

    (also btw, the computer has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with it. It is account/character based. But the channel was available, so I see you probably did join it in NW.. but you cannot leave there since the official channel intercepts your commands.)

    Bumping this because this is still an issue and really annoying. I'm also stuck in the custom "trade" channel I joined a long time ago. I have never played Star Trek Online which seems to be the only game discussed in the channel and have no interest in it. I simply do not want to see it. It is impossible to leave or mute the channel so it's always showing in my chat box. I really do not want to have to install an entire game to fix this.
