Using Sunburst during Cleric Phase

Ok guys..i am kinda dissapointed at the current DC player using sunburst in tiamat during cleric phase..so here it is, i m giving u guys 3 type of scenario and u DC decide which is effective

scenario 1 :

DC position at cleric, spamming support for the party..when party loses control of mob and go to the cleric, DC start spam sunburst to keep mob away from cleric for few second and the mob still come running back.

scenario 2 :

DC spam sunburst at spawn point when CW try to lock them at spawn point messing up CW cold stack and eventually making the mob fall out of control. (Yes..i still see this happen)

scenario 3 :

HR position themselves at the ledge and spamming split shot. DC position in front of HR and support team from there. Mob went out of control and went to the cleric. HR grab the aggro and the mob went to HR. DC sunburst knocking the mob off the ledge.

I personally think scenario 3 to be the most effective. I saw some pro DC pull this off with a HR and they are defending the cleric with just 2 of them while all other were at another cleric. I m surprisingly impressed.

IMO, the most effective scenario for sunburst / repel usage is as follows:

One enters Tiamat temple, recognize that it's not a solo instance, and sunburst either disrupts other players skills/agro/cc
or just does nothing except initiate the Erinyes charge attack.

One removes the sunburst / repel from slotted skills and puts something usefull, like chains/icy terrain/steal time.

    .

Haha yeah , I can't count the number of times I have laid down Icy terrain then pressed steal time just to see all the mobs I positioned myself in the middle of go flying away in all directions when some DC or other CW comes running to the 'rescue' with either Repel/Ice Storm or Sunburst.......... , annoying...

DC's that dont know how to play in a group is a pain in the .......(tiamat)
and that goes for other classes that have some kind of repel too
I am a GWF I use daring shout to group them and than another GWF come and use iron vanguard frontline surge, spread them like peanutbutter(sigh).its fine too use it at a cliff or when playing alone, but not in a group with other mele's
ppl need to learn to play their class in a group, its not the same as playing it alone
Tiamat is simple, group them kill them

Knock backs should only be used at the summoners/heads. Flying mobs can't be killed or controlled. Nothing good comes from knock backs at the clerics.

If a DC is standing behind the cleric, the dragons breath will hit the cleric.

Scenario 4) DC stands at devil spawn and uses divine SB to debuff them all with full three stacks of HiPro & PF or Terrror. Follow up with empowered DL, FF, Chains, or something else. Spam at-wills to recover divinity...

I myself take care on how/when to use Sunburst. It is pain when other DCs just fire away and screw well placed/timed encounters for any class. I try to be aware of what other are doing so as not to disturb them or their intentions. But there are instances when using Sunburst that do interrupt others is warranted.

I will use sunburst if i am in an oh $#!+ moment and am about to die ( with potion, healing spells on cd), then yes i will gladly use sunburst to keep myself alive.

Another instance to use sunburst out the of the preferred use during cleric defense, is to use it when a player is trying to res another player and there are a group of devils and eirneys (sp) next to them about to pummel them away. Again, I'll gladly use Sunburst to keep them safe/alive/ and help with the res.

If no CC is being used or players are busy with other things and those eirneys (sp) are spawning, ill use sunburst to keep them from charging the clerics and bring their attention onto me.

With the above, if other mobs, being dealt by other players are being hit, then so be it.
I show player support, by only playing Neverwinter as F2P

Now the one time I used sunburst in the clerics phase it went well. We had two clerics using them and we positioned ourselves near the far right cleric (one at the spawning spot and the other near the far edge) and one would use the regular sunburst which would throw the devils across the battlefield to the other cleric who would use their sunburst to push the devil into the pit. But normally I have chains slotted.

It seems more and more that most people think the name of the game is simply to spam your powers whenever they are ready. This game is so easy that it generally does not matter, but even so that is not always the best course of action.

As an HR, I sit off to the side and split the sky over the mobs in support so I feel your pain when I place it over and then the mobs are scattered...argh... Also rain of arrows into the mobs. Works like a charm as long as the mobs stay together.

ITT: Mad people failing Tiamat because of weak groups and blaming clerics/"knockbackers"...

The only way to use effectively repel/sunburst in tiamat's cleric phase is to be prepared with a team, a teammate grabs aggro, guides the mob to ledge and repel/sunburst them off the cliff, I believe that's called "teamwork". The real problem is that many players in there don't know/speak english, or simply ignore directions. Imagine that I have seen ppl trying to kill mobs on clerics when the heads were up lol!

I use Divine Sunburst ALOT during cleric phase. It applies Damage Over Time and Procs Bear Your Sins feat which increases damage from all sources. The regular Sunburst which knocks back I am using less and less because as some of you have said, it causes more trouble than it helps in Cleric Phase. If I see a bunch of mobs at cleric getting ready to knock the cleric down, then I use knock back.
