Is there a mentoring system in the game?

I was wondering if there was a mentoring system in the game that I was missing. My little brother recently started to play and I do not have any heroes his level. Is there a way to lower my level or raise his for grouping?

The guilds usually work as mentors. But yeah, it's sad there are none mentors ingame now.

I believe that when the new MOD goes live it will scale your level down or up depending on the area you are in more or less for a similar reason. However this type of scaling affects your level and not your gear so if your gear is high end and you scale your level it tends to make you more powerful than you should be anyway so frankly it seems to come out to be the same as wondering around 10 levels higher than the area you are in. At least that is how it seems.

As for mentoring ... there really should be some sort of open guild that people can maybe temporarily join that gives people first hand instructions on what to expect perhaps what conduct to use etc.

If I knew then what I know now I would have had a lot more to my character or at least maybe some sort of in game moderator similar to the forum ones that can be called up for guidance/tutorial. There is so much in the game that either has not tutorial or is easily skipped or missed leaving lots of players totally clueless as to what is out there or how things should be done.

I didn't learn about AD until I was pretty much level 60 on my first character. I remember seeing a bunch of stuff advertising AD and having NO clue how to get it.

...there's that Lvl 8 or somesuch quest that sends you into the Sewers. This introduces you to Rhix, and I'm pretty certain that this also introduces him as your to-go switchboard operator for AD-rewaded quest specials.

Of course things like this can go awash in that torrent of new impressions a newcomer to this game is confronted with in the beginning...

As stated, there is no mentoring system but you should definitely create a new toon and level up alongside him. I did this recently and thoroughly enjoyed revisiting all those low level areas.

Regardless of that, I think some of the skirmishes and CTA events will "autoscale" to different levels so you could do some stuff together there (might be subject to a minimum level).

If you haven't already, perhaps consider joining the NW_Legit_Community. While there isn't a mentoring service available per se, there are a lot of people happy to help out and share what they know.

You can always just make a new toon to tag along until your brother catches up. :)

Bonus: you get an extra Invoke/Leadership farm alt in less time than usual :P
