Coming back to Neverwinter

Hey everyone,

I recently had the urge to come back to Neverwinter after leaving it just before the Hunter class was introduced.

I played a DC to max level and was beginning to gear up. Due to having no-one to play with (Friends or Guilds) I ended up leaving.

After googling this topic, the majority of results were on Reddit, with many replies indicating that the forum community is the best place to ask so here I am.

I re-downloaded the game recently and loaded up my DC, everything had been reset and some changes made but it didn't take me long to find some guides/builds I could look in to and I was ready to go again.

This is where my issue lies, I looked at the campaigns and everything seemed so confusing to me and almost grind-like. I don't mind grinding for things but this just looked daunting. I also queued for some starter 60 Dungeons so I could get back into the swing of healing as that's what I enjoyed most but no queue popped for like 30mins which was disheartening.

I saw no Guild recruitment and despite players running around, I felt alone.

Is Neverwinter still doing well to you guys? Do you have any tips to share to aid me with feeling less confused?

I almost wanted to start a new char (Warlock/Hunter looks cool) and the upcoming Paladin however, I can't remember how much money I threw at my DC and fear that I would have to do the same with a new char so I never made one.

What are your thoughts?

last 2 mods were a fail more or less for lack of true content.
i think they went cheap for something way bigger in mod 6.
you should have time to set your gear until then.
find a good guild and start playing 24/24

    Welcome back to Neverwinter!
If you're looking for guilds, you might want to peruse our Guild Recruitment Forum. Also, all are welcome in Team Fencebane (I'm in this guild, but its run by the players)! We're mostly a social guild, but we do dungeon delves and PvP from time to time. We're also happy to help out players in need. Feel free to friend me in-game if you like. My @handle is Akromatika@Akromatik

    Hope to see you soon!

Thanks for the response, what's 24/24?

The upcoming Mod 6 is definitely going to be BIG, but whether it will be any GOOD remains dubious to me. Elemental Evil with 4 New(ish) zones. 3 of 4 are old zones changed since we last went there, with some different villains that we remember teaming up to bring elemental evil. Only the Air zone sounds new, or offers much in the way of new enemies to fight, though I am excited for the slaadi.

They will also be introducing the Paladin, which is fun, albeit overpowered on preview. Slow though. Levels 1-20 with no mount feel long.

Ive been playing since Betas (just after Caturday disaster) and represent a guild named "Defiant"

We are recruiting people just like yourself who are interested in making friends and doing Guild grouped content.

We have a good sized guild with generally 10-15 members on concurrently throughout the day, but roughly about 200 active main characters. People of varying degree of play style, we have hardcore PVP'ers which we are trying to build a Hardcore PvP team for, High End Content beaters, Min-Maxers with very specific goals, and of course plenty of Casuals who hang out chat and run random dungeons etc.

We also use a few guilds (one for Delzoun, one for Luskan, and one to be our hardcore PvP team in the future) and utilize a Chat Channel in the game to interconnect, some of those members are Guildies, Former Guildies, Friends and Allies (many of my hardcore Test server crew is on this channel) and there is always someone to talk to ;p

We also use Teamspeak (usage fluctuates, need more people interested in TS group playing)

Personally, I have been playing a PvE PvP hybrid DPS Warlock since July, Played every class but GF, and test all new content on the test server =)

Feel Free to send a message if interested.

Oh and any friend of Alizea is a friend of mine ;p

Join the chat channel NW_Legit_Community. There you can find groups without a GS requirement, and plenty of good advice.

    My advice, honestly?
Wait until at least a week (a month for preference) after Mod 6 launches before you come back in earnest.
Because Mod 6 is supposed to change just about everything.
Maybe grind out some A.D., get a little Gear or something.
But don't get TOO invested in anything you are doing now.
It may in fact be a terrific time to try and get some Leveling Gear (the stuff that goes from 0-60 with you), especially the Xvim stuff, as it is likely going to jump up in price when everyone starts their Paladins.

No-one's doing dungeons and less people are recruiting because there's no reason to. Some blame it on mod 5, but I felt like it was on its way for a lot longer than that.

    to the OP about these negative answers ;

It comes from players who are already BIS and have maxed out everything on their multiple toons , and now they find nothing to do except saying the game became bad . so don't take these answers seriously.

My advice would be , find a guild , explore the game , you have too much content to explore and have fun with .
and farm AD's and as someone said before , don't engage too much on powering up stuff/things that will be obsolete with the release of module 6 .

Something I did not consider here:
Starting RIGHT NOW, like this minute, would actually be a really good idea.
The Tymora Event is up and getting a Coin is very nice way to restart your Neverwinter career.
I'm doing that myself (although I plan to hang it up until after the Mod 6 Launch, having played myself out temporarily a while back).
