He is wrong. A perma stun Trs is a GF worst nightmare ATM and there is very little you can do to counter them. Your only chance is wait for a mistake then Bull Charge daily, lauge and anvil. If the Tr didn't die then you will.
Once stunned you cannot be unstunned. We don't have Unstoppable or any immunity breaks outside of Villain's Menace, but that is a daily and has to be used before you get stunned.
This is just a simple case of someone who does not know the class trying to be smart.
There is no Shield Bash power, but he is likely referring to Threatening Rush or Tide of Iron, but you can't use those when you are stunned and they do nothing special to a TR. They just mark or debuff the target, nothing out of this world.
Only way to deal with a TR is to always move and intermittently raise and lower guard in the hope that you block an attack. Don't stay in one place holding shift. I usually face inside the node and move around in a circle for a few seconds, then I change direction and move in the opposite direction or run across the node as I stand a good chance of running in to the TR. You can also jump every now and then. If you jump you can sometimes catch a glimpse of the TR. Also, slot Bull Charge and just keep on hitting it. You will charge at the TR in the split second he drops out of stealth and you may be able to prone him.
PSA: You don't need to grind Spinward Rise for your Elemental artifact main hand if you have some AD lying around. You can craft it via the Tyranny of Dragon's campaign screen.

Hit with Indomitable Strength after Anvil... that should do the trick
Fun fact: Villains menace cannot protect you from several TR stuns and CCs. Smokebomb, skullcracker, courage breaker, and I think deft strike as well, will stun/slow you regardless of whether VM is up or not.

You actually want to finish with Anvil as it does double damage when the target drops below 40% HP. Anvil below 40% HP hits much harder than IS.
My personal rotation is: Bull Charge, 3x Griffon's Wrath, Indomitable Strike, Anvil.
As I have Crushing Pin (+10% damage to controlled targets) and feated Griffon's Wrath (+20% damage from Griffon's), I can usually smash a TR to pieces if I catch it. Emphasis on the if.

Yeah, that too.

Well, Courage Breaker is WAI, the rest affecting you during VM is total BS and needs fixing yesterday. I tested a scoundrel for a few months to get a better feel and perhaps learn how to fight them and I gotta say I could end GFs easily regardless of GS. For the whole time on the rogue I was bull charged successfully only once during mid Shocking Execution animation and it only happened because I activated the daily out of stealth. Courage Breaker completely craps on GFs leaving them open for chain use of Duelist Flurry which kills even them. Rogues are out of our league for now. By our league I mean us fighters. My GWF of 24k GS can beat a rogue with luck but I have to go crazy for it to happen, I have to move constantly, always stayin' in top of the rogue and bashing my keyboard like a madman - its not worth it imo, esp when you check the rogue who just gave you such a hard time and he turns out to be several thousand gs below you..
Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream.

If you can't get either of those off not much you can do and when they run out same thing. neither is a great solution for PVP.
