Are you a patient player; Someone who plans to stick around for a while, and can look at the "long game", so to speak? If so, invest in some extra character slots and leadership assets. Start working on developing leadership and generating ADs. In a little while, you'll have a steady income, and with time, can get whatever you want.

I'm sorry to say, but at the current conversion rate of 477 ADs per 1 Zen, you're only looking at 477,000 ADs for your 1000 Zen, which can't buy a purple mount.

OK, so 2 extra character slots would cost 500 Zen, (less if you happen to have a coupon). That leaves you with another 500 Zen. At a conversion rate of about 477 AD per 1 Zen, that would let you buy about 238,500 ADs. With those, you can buy "Man at Arms", which is a leadership worker that can carry out all leadership tasks, and gives a 10% speed to their total duration. With the aforementioned ADs, you could buy about 7 of them, (they go for about 31,000 ADs per worker atm). Of course, you would only use these to supplement the leadership workers you already have or train in the future.

Another approach would be to only buy 6 "Man at Arms" leadership workers, and then buy 4 blue alchemy workers. The reason for this is that each blue worker provides a 25% speed bonus, and if you complete a task with a total speed bonus of at least +100%, you unlock an additional profession slot. The alchemy workers are very cheap - only costing about 10,000 ADs on the auction house, so it's a good investment. Also, down the line, you can get some purple alchemy tools - there are rare level 3 alchemy tasks that have 3 different tiers of results - if you complete a profession task and get the tier 3 result, you unlock yet another profession slot.

You can also forego the extra 2 character slots for more workers, but the extra slots also means extra storage space, which can be a premium at times...

Again, this is looking long term - it may take several months for this approach to really pay off - but it *will* pay off if you stick with it.

Personally, I only buy keys if they are on sale, and even then, I buy them with the mindset that I'm not going to win anything extraordinary - then if I do, I'm pleasantly surprised.

You can open hundreds and not win one of the better items. So yes, you have to do it with the mindset that you're taking a risk and can easily lose out. There's always a chance, but I prefer personally to think of what is more likely, and for me I'd say lockboxes are worth avoiding on the most part.

Hard to say what's a good buy for a tenner since everything is 'spensive. You can gear yourself up quite nicely, buy char slots, bank slots, a bag, almost a stone if you haven't got one, a small investment into leadership (which takes a long time to max, but easily pays off when it does).

Something I've recently done is get transmutes and dye them since I had enough AD supply (from leadership) to actually do it (it was near the bottom of my list) and quite like it when mix and matching dye packs+bottles. Though it's hard to know what something turns out like without having the dyes beforehand and spending time on preview to experiment. I'd say that was something they could've improved.

Once you buy the mount from the Zen store, each character can claim it from the Zen store for free. When you do clam said mount, it is bound to that particular character. You can even discard any Zen store mount and reclaim it later if you so desire.

Forget buying man at arms. Buy 4 char slots, make 4 new toons and level them to 11.
Invoke on them every day and start recruiting mercenaries in leadership prof. Grow the leadership army through recruiting and make guards and ultimately footmen. Split the profs between tasks that earn AD and those that train more workers. Eventually (in 3 to 4 months) each of those toons will be generating an easy 16 to 20K rAD per day. If you want a bigger income, save up the AD, convert to Zen, buy more char slots, repeat.

This works only as long as you can access gateway a couple times a day out of your playtime. If not, it doesn't scale well, and most of your play time will actually be consumed by managing assets, resources and swapping AD around.

If you don't have a stone of allure or of whatever you want (allure is like 12 or 15 dollars) go for one of those. Best purchase this game has to offer for increasing your stats and making you more powerful. Saving up the AD to convert for the extra zen after your 10 wouldn't be too bad at all. Around 150k AD is 300 zen. So 10 dollars, plus 150k AD, and you have yourself a stone augment.

As a reference, my stone gives me about 1k more power, along with other stats.

Extra bag space is always nice, although greater bags are cheaper in the AH than in the zen store.

This is a good idea! I did this myself over quite a few months.

You really only need once a day to invoke and work leadership profession. If you only have 10 toons, it won't take more than 10-15 minutes a pop. If you can invoke and work leadership twice a day, even better! It is not time consuming unless you have 30+ toons to work.

This is pretty much true of using rarer assets (Man at Arms et. al.) for leadership tasks too. Completing a 12 hour task in 9 hours only helps if you log in to collect the results and start again in under 12 hours.
