Is it possible to get the helmet without getting a key on shores? I have been running this place for forever and the ONLY thing I have ever gotten is rank 5 draconic rocks some silver and an ID scroll.
I have earned up an entire stack of rank 5s with just this place, never seen anything but those rewards.

You just have some crappy luck..... I run it and get atleast 2 t1 epic items from the normal skirmish. Dont bother with the Epic version nothing ever drops from it.
I'm not really looking for T1 HAMSTER, I want the draconic helm from it, and I have yet to see anything in the box after skirmish. I dont care about boss drops, boss is a pain in the ***, I dont want his HAMSTER anyway. I want helm from the chest, but I was curious if there was a drop rate, or if it only appeared in the chest with key

Try running it during Skirmishes time? I get more random stuff then myself.
" I tried to figure out the enigma that was you, and then I realized mastering Wild Magic was easier." - Old Wizard in Waterdeep
"Why is it dragons only use ketchup? I'd like a little wasabi please. Us silvers like a variety of condiments."
"Don't call them foolish mortals. One, they don't learn from it. Two, It just ticks them off." - An Ancient Red Dragon
well at least I have a chance, but running this place as many times as I have is frustrating when I dont see anything but the same HAMSTER rewards as always. And buying a key for 10k AD for a CHANCE at getting my gear is stupid.

Unfortunately that's RNG. Someone will get the loot their first run, and as a counter balance someone could in theory run it 1000 times and not get it. Given a big enough sample, even though the bad luck run is unlikely, it's inevitable that it will happen.
I'm just sick of running this freaking skirmish, with this glitchy, cheap, horrible boss. Worst boss in the game, and its about the only thing I really need left from him. I got my chest, boots and gloves for draconic, just need the helm from SoT. I mean, if there was another way of getting the helm, I'd 100% take that route first, but there isnt, so I'm stuck fighting this annoying, poorly made skirmish.
At least I dont have to run Mala Castle, silver linings I guess.

What's wrong with Malabogs? Just turn shadows off and a few other things and you won't lag.

I put everything on min and I still lag. Literally the worst graphics possible and I still lag because some idiot decided it was better to make each leaf a separate entity and it all has to load individually, putting huge amounts of strain on most peoples rig.
I wouldn't spend money on keys, but that's just me. It just gives you a second chest basically. The chances are the same, you just don't have to run it one more time. I've never bought or crafted any keys I've got a draconic helm sitting in my bag from eSoT right now. No other Draconic gear yet, but I've also got 2 Draconic Icons, equipped one, ended up having to salvage the other though since it's character bound which is pretty lame. Other of-note loot from there I've gotten is a few cheapy epics (I think they were all infernal somethingorother) that I again salvaged, and three Dragon Gems, two of which I was able to sell for a nice decent bit of AD. And lots of rank 5 draconic enchants. I've probably run it about 30-40 times now? I don't know if there's a way to check that though. Honestly, this skirmish is one of my favorite pieces of content in the game that I've played so far, along with Castle Never. I'll probably keep playing it for as long as I keep playing Neverwinter.
Biggest tip for the boss for those who have trouble with him: kill the drakes ASAP (should be obvious) and then just stay very close to Garakas (less obvious I guess). You take the fireballs with the big burny hurty circles out of the equation this way, and it becomes easier to avoid damage if you're close because you can just run circles around him to get out of his breath or his shotgun blast and almost never even have to dodge. Good luck!

You know you can leave without using the key, right? Make 1 key and just don't use it until you get what you want. It's a chance at an extra loot. Having the key doubles your chances of getting what you want.
