The 4/4 set bonus looks just awful - decrease crit chance by 5% and crit severity by 5% on PVE armor? It is hard to believe this is actually intended, as who would ever want that?
Anyone have the 4/4 set? can you provide any insight here?
I have the 4/4 set. I absolutely love the looks of it compared to other armor choices. The two piece bonus synergizes well if you have the cloak with the increased AP gen. The 4/4 bonus, a little on the blah side but not so much that my CW isn't wearing all 4 pieces.

I looked at Draconic Templar, then considered the debuff I get from opening with 3 stacks of HV on any mob. I'll stick with 30% damage boost. Looks of armor is fixable, if you want really ugly look at Black Ice. My GWF transmuted hers to Protectors Armor. My HV uses a Fable Illyb. as the transmute (because HV is not terribly attractive). Stat's you can get from other things a good set bonus is not replaceable.
I have 4/4 Draconic Templar set which I obtained before the patch and had enough time to test it.
- It appears t me that certain magic spells are executed slightly faster animation-wise.
- The armor has the stupidest 4/4 throughout the game. This is a fact. It would be idiotic to run it for the 4/4 bonus.
- The armor offers quite a bit of HP bonus which will increase your GS for around 1000 or so.
- The armor has no recovery.
Important thing to remember!
Draconic Set armors are meant to be used party-wise in order to get the maximum out of them, and with a proper use those can easily become the "jack of all trades" sorts of armors. So the armors are meant to be played from a party perspective DPS offering more choices for further upgrade.
The armor is quite decent, adds a lot of Armor Penetration and Critical Strike. What it lacks in other ways can either be upgraded with Glyphs or Enchantments of various sorts.
The HP boost is a splendid idea, but it doesn't compare to the full Purified Set Gear.
My impression is that the armor is somewhat ok. I personally wouldn't mind wearing it if there was no High Vizier set already available in the game.
Draconic Templar set should pair with ordinary Draconic set for the full potential of the party, MOD4/MOD5-wise.
Simply said, the armor is less effective than the previously seen Draconic Armor set, which was bad compared to each T2 set. And that's a terrible thing.

Left the Game due to heavy Damage Control & Missing Spanish Language
I am looking at it in terms of both the stats, and the 4/4, or even the 2/4. I know stat-wise it has a higher total number of stats, but I just can't get over how stupid the 4/4 bonus is on a PVE armor set. I am running out of things to farm, and tiamat is boring me to pieces, so I was really hoping trying to farm this armor would be a worthy time investment. I have HV, but tend to wear my black ice usually as I wanted a bit more defense.
I wore HV for a long time, and I know the benefits... but the stats are yucky compared to other sets. While I'm still new to the 4/4 draconic templar, I do like the visual look compared to HV, SW, DR, etc. The stats are very good though recovery is lacking. I do understand the 4/4 bonus is blah for pve; but then again you can do a 2/2 and still do well in it.

I've gotten to point that all I care about is the set bonus. Everything else is just something that moves my enchants around, or changes my accessories slightly. When I gear our my personalized rings, that will move my enchants around again. One of the problems I'm working around is an excess Recovery and Armor Penetration (so I'm going with an Imperial Cloak instead of Black Ice). So my Rings will be done with that in mind.
High Vizier looks dorky. So pick a nice transmute and fix it. That was my solution on my main CW.
