Winter Festival: Channel for Exp Gift of Simril Exchange (expgosxchange)

New channel with a fixed rule set to smoothly exchange your gifts. Should help avoid scammers, newbs and trade multiple Gifts at once.

Instructions:
  1. Type /channel_join expgosxchange to join the channel
  2. Equip the Gift of Simril into one of your tray slots (where the potions normally reside). It only works from there.
  3. LFG or gather your group within the channel. Use "/expgosxchange LFG X" to search for a group where X is the number of Gifts you want to exchange.
  4. When five members have been found, every member including the leader link their Gift in the party chat unasked. To link your gift, switch to the party chat (/p) and drag your Gift from the Tray slot into the input area of the chat window.
  5. Switch to the instance of the party leader (either exit and rejoin the Winter Festival Adventure Zone or right click the party leader and use "move to their map instance").
  6. Gather wherever.
  7. Open the Gifts in the alphabetical order of the char names. Make sure to target a party member while opening, because otherwise it won't work as stated in the tooltip of the Gift. For multi exchange just repeat this step X times.
  8. Happy holidays everyone!

Please use the channel for LFG requests only. Use this thread to ask, talk or report rule violations.

    I have one question. The tool tip says "Party members receive 6-7 [Light of Smiril] and possibly a Starlight Bag or Star of Fortune."

    Does that mean in a Party of 2 people where we each give each other 1 gift, that I have two chances at a Starlight Bag/Star or 1 chance. Will I get 12-14 lights or 6-7.

    When you use a gift, from what I've experienced, the OTHER party members get the items, not you.

    Yes, you open your gift, other party members get items. They open theirs, you get the items.

    This is a try and if the channel isn't used than it's not used.

    I personally support it (and promote it in Winter Festival's /zone and /lfg), because it's annoyingly time consuming to get everybody on page. I'm ALT heavy too and even though I've got a rich friends list it's a serious time commitment every day that I'd like to have shortened.

    The scammers are annoying, but in my eyes the more serious problem is people that don't know how to run these gift groups. The amount of explaining I have to do every day is eye-popping.
