I simply wanted to remind the crew about how refinement used to work and the main reason it was changed. The Dev team may have had some internal reasons, but as for player fun, it was changed so that players didn't have to sit on their shiny new piece of equipment. The removal prices were so high we either had to wait to even slot an enchantment or sit new, fun equipment.
I hope you remember the spirit of that change when addressing our current refinement issue. Working for a new artifact only to have it take a massive grind to progress it to legendary just does not make sense. We should have to put some work into it, but farming resources is NOT fun.
I do believe, based on the games model, that a player should be able to buy their way to a quicker path. I have no problem with that. Let's try and find the answer in the middle so the artifact situation remains fun.
So it seems like MOD5 is going to be a mixed blessing.
On one hand we have updated classes (TR and DC), another paragon for SW and a whole new playing area that caters to most players skill level.
And then on the other hand we learn there are now 3 more artifact pieces you can acquire, i have no prob with that as it gives the players something to work towards but each art requires 4.6 m RP and we can no longer buy rp from the AH for cheap...
thats cool cos by playing the content we gain rp right? hardly
i really hope they address this issue otherwise their game is going to die like many mmo's did before because the devs didnt listen to the playerbase.
I'm not even sure if the new refining system was actually for our benefit rather than just pr and designed to get us to pay for overpriced coal wards in the zen store.
It was designed for artifacts. They couldn't make them work with the old refinement system. (4 identical artifacts upgrade into one = madness).
And you actually need less coal wards with the new system. There is math somewhere about it.
Well people wouldn't buy 85 or how ever many you used to need coal wards from the shop.
Then what makes them think they will buy the same amount or more of blood rubies(correct name? forgot that completely, aquamarine off DR daily is most I can afford) in zen store?
The huge, inexplainable cost is still there, difference is instead of coal wards you need crapload of refining items and since we won't be able to get them cheaply anymore, well, guess who can provide unlimited amount for a set price(in real money)?
