How do you even make steady AD in this game anymore?

I'm to a point where I'm starting to get broken... you probably all guessed why. (COUGH Refinement COUGH COUGH)

How do you even make AD these days?

Castle Never isn't worth it anymore. Nothing drops from Lostmauth, etc etc.

    - play AH
    - make 50 Leadership clones
    - ummm... do that thing that nets you cool stuff when you're not actually playing. Ahem.

I make an average 1Mil AD a week through Leadership Profession (5 toons) and farming Blacklake Skirmish during event times. Others have other methods.

I've been broke since the 2x RP, but you can still make money farming CN or T2s, even if not as much as in the past.

Not worth one's time. To make AD for BiS gear by farming you need to be a slave to the game, more than a real time job by far.

The only thing that takes a lot of time and AD is getting perfects/R10s. And that's how it should be. If it weren't for the bots things would have taken a lot longer.

    Why?

I'd rather have gear be easy to obtain and go obsolete from mod to mod. It's a model that allows new players to catch up and refresh the premade PvP zone.

The way the system is set up now, the newbies will never-ever catch with the vets.

How are we supposed to have new blood then to freshen up the ranks???

Getting enough AD is the real problem of this game. No new players ever actually makes it to highend PvP unless they spend hundreds of dollars in the zen store. When people cant progress fast enough they get bored and walk away and in time that will kill the game.

I've been saying since they released Malabog that we need new dungeons like CN where you can farm BoE BiS gear that everybody wants and needs. But that wont happen because they are not listening to the players.

The likely real model is get new people so the whales can pound on them. Its pretty tragic. Game has fun combat but 2 modes, easy and beat on scrubs.

Considering drop rates / RPs and stuff like that I still think nobody should have been able to get R10/Perfects/Legendaries with the speed exploits allowed us to. But then we are all glad bots are swarming all over the place, because without them nobody would be able to get to BiS state in a reasonable time without spending a whole lot of money. It's all messed up.

At this point I'm not even opposed to BtA gems and refinement stones IF the drop rates would be raised drastically (either generally or through shorter ICDs from the utility slots or whatever) AND another source of legit farm/raid content would be introduced.

How about dropping BtA gems/refinement, but BoE within dungeons? I guess we need a system where players can farm for their RPs legit without catering to bots at the very same time. I mean, that should be possible.

Perhaps the PVP guilds should consider developing talent.

A 13k guy can't outplay a 20k guy. Gear matters more than skill in Neverwinter by some distance.

Talent arise when gear is the same.
If people can equip better gear they will and you will have to keep up with them.
This is generally speaking, i know people that with rank 8 can kill any rank 10. When we are talking about legendaries this does not happen tho

Yes, that is true. For a lulz I took my 13k GWF on to preview and tried to fight a 20k DC in IWD. The DC was only using one encounter the whole time. I couldn't even get the DC down to 4/5th health before I just gave up.

But when it comes to those 13k characters who want to PVP, want to take part in a PVP guild experience, they are told basically to go away until they have near-BIS gear already. So these poor unfortunate souls have to grind through the PVE content that, more often than not, they don't really like because they are in it for the PVP instead, have to endure lopsided matches, and get no help from the other PVP would-be guildmates.

It's the fault of the game. In other games, you can simply grind PvP for a month or two, and get to BiS level if you're good and compete to the best of your abilities.

Here you are gear-starved and repeatedly thrown to the BiS crowd to be stomped. It is extremely demoralizing for a new player and it almost guarantees they won't support the game and leave for greener pastures.

This is why this model of gearing up has to go.

The blacklake skirmish is very easy even for lvl 8 players and you can easily do more than 15 skirmishes during the skirmish hour. Do that twice a day for a week and that is about 200k right there.

The downside is that your eyes will bleed due to the repetitive nature of it all.

I have to disagree here. The model is fine. There's room for improvement, sure. The addition of PvP enchantments and the removal or weakening of PvE versions prom PvP would be nice. But other than that, the model is not bad.

The problem is that new people either don't have access to the numerous cheap botted enchantments the old people used to have and/or don't want to spend the money to get the same. Getting perfects/legendaries isn't as easy as it used to be. Or as cheap. And I'm not even talking about the effort to make enchantments themselves, even though that should be the way to go, considering the game's design. The mere thought of that makes most people cry.
right now is the cheapest moment ever to be fair.

Honestly I make about 100k a week lol since I refuse to grind. The way I have made ad in the past is by being one of the first people to sell new items. Like when icewind dale first came out, I made 1mil in 1 day just by selling stuff, I sold 10 kessils for 70k lol and they was dropping about 10 every 2 HE. I wish they would ad AD rewards to pvp :)

My AD income is 100% randomic.

Sometimes I start the week with 13k and then end with 3kk and then in the next week I'm with 57k. Then with 900k... I spend a lot and I get expensive items quite frequently.

By the way, I currently have 500k RAD on my main just because I'm farming LoL.

Farming LoL? How does lostmauth's lair give RaD ? lol

I always thought people ran lol and hoped the belts would drop to sell them, which never happens.

Mass opening and selling lockboxes might still be a thing, although I haven't done the math for quite some time.

Each LOL run, you're guaranteed to get a 6k ring at the minimum. So 5 DD runs = 30k RAD.

    Basically what pointsman said.

Although I get a lot of chest pieces and that's worth 10k RAD. Since I complete that dungeon whenever I'm online, I get a lot of overflowing RAD.

Funny, how many things that have nothing to do with actually playing the game get suggested.
Just imagine, everyone would work the auctionhouse, for example.

    This.
AH can be so random though, I can net 500-1m per day if I spend half a day browsing, but often I get 0 for my efforts, but having random Items can also give you variable options for trade (Tip: Look always at the Bid If the seller is not wise enough to put a mid range bid take note of the expiration date and ready yourself a good amount of AD for the bidding war). In Trading channel, Enchantments are selling like pancakes, I refine sold > refine sold and can get a decent amount of returns; If my fingers won't ache that is.
A good solid source of income is from alts, but it takes Time.

Blacklake??? :) What do you mean? Does blacklake has anything of value?

Skirmish event: 1000 AD each run. Blacklake can be run in about 3 minutes = average 18 runs = 18k AD in an hour. There is usually three Skirmish events in a day (I try to do at least two if I can, sometimes I knock out all three). I keep a "throw away" toon slot to create newbie toons for that purpose: do tutorial and Crown quest to make level 5. Can play Blacklake through level 13.

All "legal" and up-front, not exploiting because I do it manually (no bots or anything stopped like that).

This, plus I have four or five toons with level 20 Leadership and purple "Hero" assets allows me to farm bunches of AD through that, average 1600/6 hrs x3 = 4800 AD x time a day = 9600/day for each toon.

It does take a lot of effort and time to get to this point, though. So in fairness: I've been playing since closed beta/Alpha.
