(please excuse the poor english)
Hello ladies and gentlemen,
As the title said I didn't played this since almost one year and half, for the people who didn't know this "age", we didn't even have 2 paragon paths, yup. I guess it was still "module" 1? With no campaign ans stuff, lockbox keys were sellable, castle never was "hard", there were no artefacts thing and you couldn't even preview the skin of the gear you were about to buy! .. Well it seems you still can't
...
That beeing said, you can imagine how lost I was when I came back a bit more than one week ago, I had a free respec that I possibly .. surely spent miserably, but I spec'd into what I think I was in 2013, the swordmaster - destroyer path.
After spending ages on forums and super outaded guides I still have some questions about the "new" GWF ( mostly PvP! ) and I'm going to ask some of these here and some answers would be really apreciated :
1- WTH!? We got the GF paragon path available and they have the swordmaster, I'm confused, really, from what I saw, everybody uses the Iron vanguard path ... is it that great? The only awesome skill I find is Threatening Rush, what do I miss here? Doed it means a GF - swordmaster is as strong as a GWF - Iron vanguard?
2- Gear! I'm so lost, my char had arround 10k GS when I logged in, now I'm close to 13k ( weeeh ... ) but I'm reading ( and feeling .. in my skin, flesh and bones during PvP ... ) that some people have over 20k ... that seems a lot, really. But I have no idea how to reach such a score, I heard about that Black Ice armor that I can't have yet ( working on my campaigns so I can unlock Icewind Dale ) and the artifact belts and weapon. While I now know that you can loot a belt on dragons ( farming them atm ) can someone confirm that I will eventually have the weapon at the end of the Tyrany of dragons campaign?
Also if someone could give me some screenshot of gear / stats of their super high GS pvp gear, or at least, what should I aim for, I'd be gratefull.
3- Stats! What to focus on for PvP? From what I saw, GWF PvPs are tank builds? It surprised me a lot to be honest, aren't we suposed to rush into the fray and absolutly destroy a squishy target during a stun? 'cuz that's how I remember playing back then heh. Wasn't that fun dying over and over but each death meant at least 1 kill. If you're a tank, how do you deal damages?
About the stats, what should I focus on? I was all into crit > power > armor pen, I guess it's not that good now?
I read somewhere that some of you have 50k hp, 40k beeing considered "low", while I'm here with my 28k hp.
4- Spec! Sooo .. I think I saw something about Sentinel beeing awesome but Destroyer is now better .. ? Could someone explain me why? I'm really lost here. Also what about the swordmaster vs iron vanguard thing?
So as you can see, I don't even have the "bic picture" about what I should do any help is apreciated, thanks a lot in advance!
Edit : whith all the changes, should I roll a GF instead? If I want a high damage dealing solo target character?

The Artifact Weapon is part of the campaign. Up the middle, at the top. My GWF is only 17K, but those super high GSs are mostly coming from having 3 artifacts, plus weapon and belt artifacts.
I quit PvPing after mod 4 started. Can't help you there.
Sent is tanky, destroyer is DPS. In mod 5 (Nov 18), they're changing Instigators. They may become good, but I haven't tested.
You should roll a second class, and get them to Icewind Dale,so you can pick up the class artifacts.
-Start with reading patch notes to see what are the new things.
-Look at the leaderboard to see who are the top gwfs and you can inspect them via gateway if you want to copy the gear builds.
-Feats are pretty easy to figure out and since they are changing them all the time is kinda pointless to give you a specific build.
-Atm pick Iron Vanguard as a choice for pvp, higher mobility and higher burst dmg due to marks.
For our class advocate:
Would be nice if you could compile a list with all the gwf updates and post it here so people can easily have access to them. Ty!
